  1. hi mate if anything the barrel in the 20tac and 204 should last pretty long if looked after. yes the fps is very high but you can get this speed with half the powder of a 22/250 so really the blast will be less harmfull on the throat then say a 22/250 round would be.
  2. as above really. tryed 20grain rounds in mine and found them crap to be fair. stick with the 17grain ones and get better accuracy and more fps
  3. there are a couple of people on the bbs that have the 20tac rifles that has been built by a guy called dasherman. one lad called craigboy on there from ni i think it is has one and he posted some pictures of the groups he is getting at 200 and 300 yards ! and there super groups. worth going for one if you want something different with low recoil and accuracy. i would think you could see the hit to with the low recoil.
  4. i would get the zeiss diavari if you got the money to spend. or the zeiss conquest if you want a top scope with out spending over a grand. you could get one for £500 so you would be saving alot of cash plus if you get the right recticial you can use it for foxing and on the target range. key is something that dont get lost in the lamp but then not to thick for range shooting. i would say the zplex would be perfect for that or what about the rapidz recticial. you can sse a fox clear in the lamp at 300 yards even with the conquest and that is half the price of the other top scopes.
  5. hi mate a t4 mod will work well on the 222 i wouldnt have anything bigger
  6. you dont need to add a photo mate. just send in your ticket with a variation why you want the mod. i put for keeping noise down in the area and i explained that i didnt want to damage my hearing. your have to pay 26 pound to because you are adding to your ticket. if you look at your ticket your see the photo is scanned and not the picture you sent
  7. its cheap and if your rifle shoots it well your be happy. but like any rifle no matter if its the same make and model some like different ammo. i would try a box of each which mite work out dear but you will no then what your rifle likes. in 222 i would try some 40 grain ammo and 50 grain ammo. my mate reloads for his 40grain vmax and its flat shooting and really rips foxes to pieces. good on long range rabbits and crows to dont forget privi is softpoint ammo and vmax is billstic tip
  8. i like the annie 1517. lovely smooth bolt, superb tigger, stunning accuracy wont go wrong with the annie
  9. have a good luck on youtube to it will show you abit about it
  10. as above need to write down who you got it off. his name address and firearms number. and what rifle it is and the id number you have 7 days to do it in. and send it recored
  11. its because sako are making a new action so are putting all there time into that. guntrader is best bet if not why not get the ako 75 in 223 i no there is some of them on there
  12. well had a quicx chat to woman on the phone from firearms and she said write in a letter asking what i would like to have on my ticket if poss and said get the 3 lads i go shooting with who has open tickets to write me a letter each saying about my shooting and gun handling and she will see what they can do. she said they mite not open the 22/250 up right away but will more then likely open the hmr up for me
  13. i only used a hand full of hv rounds in 22lr and found them shite. i would stick to subs and if you want more range get a hmr. the noise difference wont be much then plus your have alot more accuracy
  14. each to there own mate but the mtc is much better then the simmons wtc ! ive had both wtc scopes the 3.5x10x50 and the 6.5x20x50 and there nowhere nr as clear as the mtc scopes ive had foxes at 200 yards with 22/250 with a viper on to at night but the best thing is to look for yourself as each of our eyes are different
  15. i havent heard one mr l and as its a smaller cal you would think it would be alot more silent BUT THEN WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE FPS OF IT IT COULD BE MORE OF A BOOM THEN 223
  16. i have the 4x16x50 on hmr its fine. i would perfer to have the mamba then the viper as you dont need the big turrets
  17. what did they tell you mate ? pm me if you dont want to say on the board
  18. Hi Jamie. Had my ticket made open condition after about 18 months, i phoned the FEO and explained that i regularly shoot with a mate whose ticket is already open condition, and that we have been offered permission to shoot over more land near to areas that have been assessed for my .17 , i explained that the land owners wanted us to carry out vermin control on a regular basis, and this was a condition of the permission, but if my mate could not make it i could not go myself because of the closed condition limitations, i also remarked that it would also be easier on their resouces if an op
  19. cheers for the advise lads i will give that a try. i think its abit silly how they look at the amount of ammo you use really. for instant i only have the one piece of land cleared for 22/250 its about 170 acres so its not small but not big by any means. but the fact is there is only amount of ammo im going to be using on there doing vermin control. if i went to a range alot then of course my ammo amount would look like i have used a hell of a lot. plus the fact that i have been using reloaded rounds so my fac havent got a lot wrote down on it. maybe i should include a letter saying th
  20. hi lads ive had my ticket for around 18 months now and its closed. i going shooting abit with 3 other lads they all have open tickets they have seen me shoot and trust me and no im safe. so im going to put in and ask for my ticket to be opened if poss. it mite be a long shoot but i have ground which is passed up to 308 but a couple of other pieces that is only covered for 22lr. i no there are places on there i could shoot centrefire safely from high postion. and no the land very well day or night. i also shoot over a golf course that is passed up to 22 lr and again it could shoot cent
  21. i would have a trooper 3.1td. very good and lots of room. plus they go forever
  22. there around £8 mate but post to norway would be extra
  23. Try an old bicycle inner tube cut to size, as big a diameter wheel as possible, not a dinky little kiddies bike There are a number of propriatory sleeves available as well!!!! Thanks, Think I'll go with the inner tube option, I'm sure the GF has an old bike in the basement she doesnt use Cheers Jonathan that or there is a guy on the bbs site that makes them. look him up his name is william
