yes look at some of the cz around different shops some have nice walnut stocks with a nice markings. i have a annie and its a dear rifle but the stocks are crap. inless you have the thumbhole one. then its nice. i had the thumbhole but sold it as im lefthanded. so i got cash and some ammo and a standard ambi stock for the swap. the savage rifles with thumbhole are laminate there very nice but i have heard storys that rifle isnt very well built. and the mag release catch is crap. it works fine but looks cheap and nasty. if you are paying £490 mate then go fore the annie or sako. but i

Thanks for the reply Jamie, do you have a link to the thread in the BBS forumn as I can't find seem to find it? Cheers hi mate i will pm you his hotmail address. you can ask him then what you want. i have had stuff off him and he even sent it to me before payment ! so he is a honest guy and the stuff is brand new. he has some secondhand stuff to. but still its only shop stuff so is like new anyway -
jsr do one on line or the mtc range are pretty good. to be honest mate how much you got to spend. its best to by the best you can aford. some of the cheap ones are not very accurate and you have to hold them dead still. a secondhand leupold rx1 can be had cheapish say 120 pound on ebay

i just get a mate to hold the lamp -
i think over cleaning a barrel can do more harm then good with any rifle let alone 22lr
-
i have the mtc viper 4x16x50 but never go over 8 mag. i perfer it lower as on high mag you narrow the field of view and you can see just how shakey you are ! which is off putting

if the sako is about for 500 then thats a good deal. and the 308 isnt a barrel burner like say a 22/250 is or 243 so would be a good bet. i would say tho a new rifle would be better still howa looks very good for the cash

s&b or swaro if you want a top brand but fixed mag. if you want a one with zoom then a zeiss conquest cant beat them for the money my greddy little hands will have one next week i hear of alot of people that have them 300 yard fox at night in the lamp can be seen clear ! then you no the optics are up there with the best for that money

I get the impression jamie likes bore snakes, it's quite well known I think that I'm not a fan at all...but hey ...forums..that's what they are all about...a mixture of views and opinions i wouldnt use one on the centrefire inless i have only had a couple of shots then i would. the key to the boresnake is to make sure you pull it out level and not at a angle because it could rub the crown. i would never use a bronze brush in my rifles as i think they do more harm then good. nylon brushes on the other hand are perfect. the only reason i dont use a rod on rimfires is becaus

just make sure you get one thats padded otherwise you can feel the bumps in the ground with the thin matts on the market.

cheers lads. all hmr's are pretty much the same accuracy wise. its down to taste and price and i think your be happy with what ever make you get. as a rabbiting tool i find it very good and if you shoot on land where there is the odd fox about when your out shooting you can deal with him to as long as you no the rifle well and the fox is in side a 100 yard range. the rifle has the power to kill over that but i wouldnt because the round is so small if you pull the shot abit you could hit him in the skull. you just have to be sure with the shot as the fox will leg it and its not fair on

is it the black one ? i have it the key is not to really blow in it just use your lungs to get a good pitch. i go different between to pitchs high then the low deep pitch. then once a fox runs in keep it high but not so loud. i sometimes use that for range then go to the wam to draw them in close. -
right start with the rifle. most hmr's weather its a annie,cz,sako, savage with group around the same the only difference is price ! now depends if you want a wood stock or plastic, what barrel lenght, and so on cz are great value for money. and a very well built and accurate. i myself have the annie 1517 hmr. i find the build better, better tigger and nicer bolt to cock to. its super accurate 1/4 inch groups at 100 yards some days depending on weather. but on a average day just under 1/2 inch which is ideal. ammo all hmr ammo is made in same factory so people say it should shoot t

as above mate. also from what i have been reading i think you are not getting the range right at night. its very easy to get it wrong and you think things are closer then they really are. if you go on goggle earth and look at your land you can mesure your different fields with the ruler stick. that when when you go next time you will have a good idea of the ranges. and you will no what hold over to give then if you have practiced with your rifle. range finders are worth buying but google is good to get a ruff idea of your ground and the different size fields

as above but you mite get granted it if the land is hilly and thre are lots of save shots to be had. i would get out and start knocking on the farm doors to get some permission. that way you can add that at the same time

it will be fine mate its just the ears on some mags that need opeaning abit to let the bullet sit better in the mag. you see in the 5 shot ones the 1st 4 will be fine but if the mag isnt right then ever bullet you put in is at a bit of a different angle then it should be. this then makes the last bullet sit at a funny angle. if yours is working fine then leave it well alone.
-
same as john i use to zero mine at 60 with eley subs when i had my 22lr.
-
its the inside of the mag that makes the problem. it dont sit right so when you put the mag in and bolt forward the head of the bullet is sitting to high so dont bolt properly.
