    Not a mason but know quite a few who are in them. The majority of those I know are knobs..., and probably the last people I'd trust with a secret. The thought that these people are in any way more 'enlightened' than me is fcuking laughable. One exception is my good mate and fishing buddy. He joined because his dad and brothers are in them, but don't think he's been in a while. Straightforward guy my mate, who doesn't suffer idiots, and when I asked him what it was all about he said "it's a load of sh!te and most of the guys there are ar$eholes". He didn't give much else away mind....

    Was never a Smiths fan, and the fact Morrissey was such a freak was probably a big factor, but... I saw the tribute band The Smyths last weekend at the Edinburgh festival. They were absolutely different class. Well worth seeing if you get the chance, and even if you didn't know all their stuff.

    They look very good and have very good detail. Looked at getting a painting or sketch done a while ago and googled local pet/portrait artists. The standard of some of the sample work on display by a lot of the 'artists' was shocking, and nothing like as good as those sketches you got done. The kid should be cashing right in on a talent like that...,if she's not already.

    Never seen it and glad too. Can't stand that sort of shite. Watched a really good documentary last night on BBC2 (Scotland) about paralympian David Smith who has battled and continues to battle illness to conquer his goals. Think you can get it on the iPlayer, and a good hour of truly inspirational TV which I'd recommend. Gotta be better than watching any more of this benefits street type shite making 'celebrities' out of the dregs of our society. Edited to add, programme is called Dead Man Cycling

    Obviously we'll disagree on the semantics, mate, but should consenting adults be allowed to make their own choices? Or should the government continue to do what they they think is right for them? It's something that most wouldn't want to touch, on the current playing field. Those that agree wouldn't want to risk their political careers by sticking their heads up, above the trench.     A lot of people feel really strongly about this and would like to see a change in the law but ask any of them what they've actually done to bring about the change. Diddly I'll bet. No point blaming the status quo on politicians, do-gooders and God botherers. You want a change you've got to go and do your bit.

    For me the case in question is straightforward, let the lady die with some dignity and without prolonged pain & suffering. However it is a complicated and very emotive subject and divides opinion which makes most politicians run & hide, but it does need dealt with in this country and sooner rather than later.

    Nothing against the gulls but there are far too many in our towns and cities now. I see them regularly chasing and catching fledgling garden birds. Noisy fcuking things too. Cull required, definitely.
