  1. I will admit I'm not easily offended (obviously as I've put up with WILF for years) but I've been racking my brains to think if I could ever think of any reason I would wish a child to be shot and apart from a zombie apocalypse which will never happen and if it did the child would be undead anyway I could not think for the life of me any reason to wish this on even my worst memphis [sic].
  2. Whatever your conflicting views are I believe there is a line between disagreeing with something and being a flat out nutjob and using hunting as an excuse to vent psycopathic behaviour a quick troll through some of those Facebook pages just gives you all the evidence you need. Check out this anti hunter who would like to shoot all the hounds with a machine gun These comments accompanied a video of a fox getting shot by a 12g at point blank range, real classy Mary Latona you must be a lovely compassionate human being to wish that kind of thing on someone's young, innocent child!.
  3. What a cracking thread. I wanted a rabbiting dog, a ferreting companion more than anything I do like my lamping but wanted to concentrate more on daytime work. I knew what I wanted and in time the right one came up (thanks to Tomo who put me in touch) Grew X Kelpie/Collie. I have no interest in anything other than rabbiting and this little bitch suits me just fine.
  4. Not copying Fuji's post lol. I haven't put in any miles or travelled loads of different counties just a short drive and a walk out with the camera.
  5. You do not need any permission to take a photograph of anybody in a public place
  6. I got into the running dogs by picking up a couple of "latchkey" lurchers that belonged to the local hard man he turned them away for the day and I'd usually find them in one of their haunts and take them off for the day ratching around. Couldn't do it now they'd be picked up and the owner fined. The owner of them dogs got shot by the police and I never saw them after that but it's a small world and by a strange twist of fate the chap who bred them is on moochers and on here I think.
  7. I have done nothing with anything No change there then you Berkeley:)
  8. Good choice of bag Ant, a few years back I used a scabby supermarket carrier bag filled it up and then caught the bottom on a thorn and ripped the bottom out losing my bounty haha
  9. Yeah back along around the time when you were getting ridiculed on here over your run, catch, kill dog combos you made a big post listing all the places you go to not far from Taunton. I think you said you spent two days knocking on doors, it stuck in my mind because I lived in one of the villages you listed and I had it all sewn up in that area strangely enough at the time I asked six of the farmers in those areas and none of them had any recollection of you knocking their doors, there was one farm I didn't have but the other lad did so I worked out by simple elimination you must share that p
  10. I loved the Mr Crabtree series with Bernard Cribbins, took me back to Halcyon days.
  11. Possibly the same lad then? I know you share his permission
  12. I never took this lad he took me to be honest, I've never really been one for working the lurchers in groups or with others but I bumped into this lad a few times and he invited out on his permission for a spot of lamping. I decided to take him up as it was a cracking spot. He had a Hancock and a Beddy cross I just had my Bull cross, he said I could have the first slip so we got on the land the first rabbit I clocked in the beam my bitch took off and within seconds he'd slipped both of his dogs and saw nothing wrong with this I politely told him I wasn't really into gang lamping and that littl
  13. Ah, I got the wrong end of the stick. my beds are raised but the runs are on terraferma
  14. Most hound kennels have their lodges raised off the ground one way or another, all of my lot are raised off the ground it is always a bit warmer higher up, raising the bed off the floor reduces conductive heat loss through the concrete base and I can pressure wash under the bed daily without worrying about wet bedding
  15. Good pics there, great to see lots of rabbiting posts appearing again
