    I'd have a pup from a brother/sister mating if the parents were sound and healthy, did the job they were bred to do and the pups at this stage seemed healthy enough. You're as likely to encounter problems from unrelated stock as you are related.

    Spot on Skycat, everyone classes the small pup as the runt simply because it is the smallest pup. There's a world of difference between a small healthy pup and a genuine runt. Also a lot of the problems a runt may have might not start to manifest themselves till the pup is genuinely tested later on in life and you've spent time and resources getting to the stage where a problem becomes apparent. If it's a healthy small pup fire on, if it is genuinely the runt don't let your heart rule your head it'll end up more emotional in the long run.

    It's in proportion mate, just smaller than norm, probably slightly bigger than a springer dog.

    What exactly can your grandparents do that would be in any way detrimental to your dog ?. Or are you thinking your dog will be soft due to getting it's ears rubbed etc, or perhaps you think your dog is bonding with grannie rather than you. That'll all change when the dog realises you provide the fun and sport. Whatever the reason mate I'd rather have my pup in the house with my grandparents than laid out in a kennel on it's tod.

    Pop along to mines lab and you'll see one, granted not cocker size but still a small dog. Also, and I might have read the post wrong but I thought the op was think along the lines of a retriever, lab/goldie etc.

    Fuel, wear and tear of your vehicle, clothes, boots, wellies, dog food, vet bills, boosters, get receipts for some of the gear your mates buy, by the time you're finished they'll owe you money.

    Depends what has been said or decided when a person parts with a dog. It's not as clear cut and simple as the fact you parted with it and therefore have no say. What if you gave someone you thought was genuine (mistakenly) a dog on the understanding if for whatever reason it didn't work out you would have it back, and then find the same person had sold it on to a total wankpit owner.

    Working golden retriever bitches can be quite small and probably a bit more laid back and easier to train than a cocker or a terrier.

I'm not making comparisons regarding any individual, simply saying there are more people in the world than ever and increasing demand on the earths resources. Tell you what though, your wee black bugger born into snot and poverty won't put the strain on resources like a western family and as you point out will possibly be dead before adulthood again using less resources, so at the risk of kicking off another argument, it could be argued that civilised western cultures with less kids actually born but surviving to again reprod

    Wasting your time Max, a few of the folk on here lambasting me and my comments about the number of kids are right up front condemning Africans, Pakistanis etc for their reproduction rate. I'm guessing most can't think outside their village/town. This is a world problem, not just British, but for me I don't care if it's a bangledashi snake charmer having x amount of kids or a respectable upper class family in an English town, boils down to the same. If every couple had Four kids and that cycle goes unchecked for a couple of generations we're fecked.

    I'm guessing all the folks asking why have a few kids, Maxhardcore has pretty much answered that, saves me. The amount of kids I have?, none and I don't see why I should bankroll other folks. People who can afford to raise them themselves?, wasn't Cameron receiving child care/benefit? and possibly still is.

    As long as you pay folk to have kids we're fecked, can't feed them, don't breed them. They're your responsibility not the governments. I'll also add, and I care not who I offend, but anyone, British born or immigrant who in this day and age has more than a couple of kids are selfish bstards.
