Your mad i used to run lots (100 miles plus a week) and would train long and hard for any run/race, the only advice so late in the game is, eat lots now and do lots of stretching and warm up exercises, by eating lots as has been said thats carb's, and drinking lots of fluids. I always drank water or strong orange juice when running, strong orange squash (with sugar) was a good sugar boost. The highway code IS NOT LAW its guidance and advice, you cant be prosecuted for failingt to adhere to teh highway code, so the section 53 is just guidance, it should be followed but its not enforceable and the riders didn't break any laws by not complying Off to look it up properly in a LAW book now!

Reading the article and listening to the news,didn't seem the police were "under pressure" they were following up on all the relatives of the family, and the bloke was a distant relative of the stepdads, they knocked on the door and no one answered.........they knocked on teh neighbours and only when confronted by a copper did the neighbour think to say they had heard a child inside even when the bloke went out, and they knew he didn't have a kid living there? why didn't this neighbour contact the police sooner?? then they did the door and found the kid, and nicked the bloke, good result!

theres a funny story here, i remember my RE teacher from school telling us about aid/missionary work he had done when younger, he had been involved in a refugee camp for vietnamese boat people, the refugee camp became over run with rats and mice, so the workers there decided to get a few cats to eat/control the mice and rats. all was going well, the refugee's liked the cats, the kids played with the cats, and the cats did a fantastic job and caught all the mice! yes the only exceptions in law are rats and rabbits, however you can use dogs to locate wounded animals from shooting, so if you are a crap shot a dog to run down any wounded ones would be humane and legal!

This comes up again and again on different forums. The law is quiet catergoric cats are not domestic animals they are classed as WILD, under the road traffic act, you have to report accidents with domestic animals, cats are not on the list! Wasn't our 'Compo', was it? I believe the saying is a little knowledge is a dangerous thing! The idiot in the car knew half of something and then started professing he was alluding to section 5 of the public order act, it's not verbal assault (wtf is that) its causing harrasment alarm or distress, usually you need warning by a copper to shut up before you get arrested for that. And questioning someones bad driving doesn't really fall into the offence I would quote the statute as i know DS likes it when i do, but i dont want him getting too excited about it
