  2. I got my SGC 5 years ago, i firstly got a neighbour who was a train driver, i read the signatory part saying it had to be a professional but not a relative or a serving copper, it listed jobs the signatory could do, then eneded with person of similar standing.....so i presumed that a tube driver would be OK, as being an upstanding member of the public with no criminal record etc..... They bounced my application purely because because he wasn't employed in one of the listed occupations, JP,GP,Army officer etc........anyway when i rang the lady in teh firearms unit had a definitive and fulle
  3. never been fortunate enough to have the gun with me when i saw a large cat If it was from a zoo they wouldn't be too bothered by you shooting it, they have firearms trained keepers for such eventualities anyway and dont worry about the licensing department its the sun newspaper for the £50,000 for a cat carcass and conclusive proof is where i would be going! I now always carry a few SG and AAA carts when out shooting .......................better to be equipped and ready than miss the opportunity again
  4. Just seen on the news they are also looking for another couple of people who are missing.............and it showed the bridge that collapsed taking the copper............a bleeding huge stone effort not a foot bridge but a bridge that looked like it had been there at least a hundred years and very well made
  5. Just watching the news.....a copper swept away trying to rescue two people when a bridge collapsed There will be a massive displacement of people and it will take some years to get back in their homes/sort out the insurance etc....
  6. Not done a lot with mine this past week Been laid up with swine flu! However hoping to go and dredge a few hedges with him and the shotgun soon (before the end of the pheasant season) looking for whatever he can find, rats,rabbits,pheasants,foxes....Muntjac I might take him ferreting with me on Sunday to push through the standing cover before hand
  7. a bit confused by your post? they are all one type but the ones from scandanavia which are predominatley worked above ground tend to be slightly bigger all round...........is it the scandanavian type you refer to? they all have short legs though.......just not the crippled short legged KC type ones
  8. On the contrary The yob was arrested and charged! as it should have been.... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/...lack-belts.html
  9. the chap was very restrained and really held it together until the lad started taking it further then he only hit him a couple of times and he didn't want to know..............class!
  10. I take it by teh lack of a reply he has either gone to the docs or is really bad and cant type a reply Ring NHS direct, would be my advice , then a&e or the doctors depending on what they say
  11. everyone is just going to state whats in their kennel! because thats what works for them......each to their own and all that! My only advise is get a dog you like, one that you like the look of and which you feel happy walking on a lead, as then you will be happy with teh dog and put the effort into training and playing with it and will get the best from you and the dog! get what someone else recommends and you may not feel as attached and wont put in teh effort the same go out with a few people and different dogs if you can.....see a few out and about, go to a show and stan
  12. Finings are derived from catfish swim bladders nowadays. There are, however vegan alternatives. So the silly buggers can drink themselves into a stupor with a clear conscience. Still have to take Vit B12 supplements derived from animals though. No way round that, that I know of. And before the Anti-spotters get going, no I'm NOT a bloody vegan. Or a vegetarian..... or an Anti..... You just know a lot about beer
  13. Tom I had a very interesting debate with a vegetarian on another forum, yesterday and this morning...........she couldn't abide an animal dieing to feed her essentially however she ate cheese and drank milk! I pointed out the bye product of the milk industry is calves which then get eaten.......so by eating cheese she was creating veal! and that she may as well eat the meat that she is creating by making teh cow give birth and lactate amazing teh list of stuff derived from animals bye products
  14. the romans called the goddess of hunting Diana The Greeks call the same goddess Artemis My lad had to make a greek temple for school thats the only reason i know that fact.................his temple was an Artemis temple I am for a DNA database.................but really dont think it would be practical in either cost and application of taking everyones DNA.............or would be the wonderful finder of rapists and child abusers that the advocates believe it would be................as i say its called "forensically aware" and lots of the bad guys are very forensically aware no
  15. everyone is missing the point.......it would help clear up a few old unsolved cases........not guaranteed that they would end in a court conviction either someone being identified is not the end of the matter Criminals are very forensically aware now....so it would have a limited effect anyway in future cases...........i.e. No effect, thank csi and similar shows for showing forensic science to teh masses and making the criminals consider their DNA traces and fingerprints seriously
  16. top dogs in the right hands with the right breeding behind them
  17. There is a saying about fiddling whilst rome burns! Do what you are happy to do, or ignore it and be happy sitting and doing nothing......I now what my conscience tells me to do!........i always have to do something rather than nothing.........and they have to reply they cant ignore you........... Thats why i am urging people to support the B.N.P cadidate for my area as already 2 labour councilers have back tracked on the housing development due to only having a 100 votes difference. The labour MPs for s.yorks did not listen or take any notice [bANNED TEXT] letters were sent to them befo

  19. Thats because a lot just carry on doing wat they have allways done atb dell But Carrying on regardless is not the point is it........as with restrictions in place the future will be limited for the next generation, fight the ban....get it over turned and then things can resume to normal............there is too much lethargy with the majority on here and this is why we have the ban...........do you think that the ban is the end of it? do you think they wont erode our ways further? do you think there will be as many hunting how we do in 40years???????
  20. And the good guys are . . . !?!?!? i cant beleive how brainwashed you lot sound, you still think that the powers that be have our best interest at heart ?? Lets go the whole hog and all get implanted with a microchip. There are ways to tackle crime, and this aint one. the good guys aren't the gang raping a mentally impaired teenage girl, they are the ones trying to identify and locate them, arrest them and take them to court. As i said I feel its pretty pointless as the major criminals are very forensically aware thanks to tv programmes etc.....
  21. I dont know, it would solve some crimes a lot quicker and would help with old cases but due to information out there in the general media and someone already mentioned the crime channels on tv...........a lot of serious criminals are already forensically aware............like that gang of lads who raped that girl with special needs, they removed their DNA with acid........they poored acid into her and over her to burn of the evidence.....it scarred her for life but that was a side effect! she was aware enough of some of them to identify and give evidence, but only a few of the group were ever
  22. feel free to edit the letter however you want before sending it, I have sent it to my MP! as it reads I agree we dont want to divide any groups thats why at the end it states "especially from a government that tries to bring communities together. We should be teaching people to be tolerant of others traditions and this includes British rural traditions." we should bring communities together not divide....i cant see how what i wrote will upset any class group within the hunting community........and if i do sorry....i was trying to point out that new labour pushed through the hunting ac
  23. My suggested Letter! :---- Dear (insert MP's name here) Please could I bring to your attention the general public's dis-approval with the Hunting ACT 2003, this law is not fair and is un-enforceable. I am a Hunter, but probably not the kind of Hunter that will immediately spring to your mind. Not all Hunters wear red jackets and Ride to Hounds, the mounted Packs are still hunting and the HUNTING ACT 2003 is not affecting them. The hunting act is however affecting people at the other end of the Hunting spectrum, I.E. the working classes, the people who either
  24. OP =opening poster do you mean posted a question we all replied and then he didn't reply? Do you think he was trying to get us to admit to illegal activity with a bow in the UK?
  25. thats a big dog, my uncle used to have a deerhound greyhound saturated lurcher, he was 32inches to the shoulder and used to retrieve foxes alive often jumping a 5 bar gate with it in his mouth he was thicker set than your dog, he had a head like the love dragon from the never ending story everything about him was big....he was suprisingly fast and agile and capable of nailing rabbits and other small game suitably well!
