Of course I watch the news. If I'd been the fella that got knocked to the ground, I'd have gone nowhere near the copper in full riot gear, so it wouldn't have happened. I like my rights, but I'm usually sensible enough to know when to relinquish them for the sake of my health. And he died of a heart attack, 10 minutes after being pushed over. Which is a rather different complexion to what you just wrote. Which rather shows how things can be misinterpreted. You keep wearing your blinker,s mate. And it wasent ten it was four minutes.THE GUY WAS WALKING BY WITH HIS HAND IN HIS P

there is some sense in speaking with them and showing you have nothing to hide and in a fair world that would be brilliant, they come in hold a few ferrets, have a cuppa a chat and leave....lovely! However on another forum i am on....there is links to the SHG group and others.......one example was a lady who kept rabbits.......the RSPCA had recieved a complaint......they came round whilst she was cleaning the hutches and several rabbits were in one empty and bare hutch whilst shee cleaned out, topped up food and water etc, The RSPCA person....tipped out teh water bowl and put it back in em

i was in a club and we did the summer events and fairs etc.....we did the racing but the real money spinner and the one that got people excited was ferret in a bin (heard it also called ferret roulette) and its easier to organise. 1 bin (a proper sized garden bin) 8 short bits of pipe numbered 1-8 8 pipe sized holes cut in the base of the bin! and the pipes placed in so you have a bin with 8 possible exits at ground level! then cut 8 pieces of wood as "tickets" and number them to correspond with the pipes.....they hold the "ticket" to show which they picked pay a pound p

The one & Sterry Not worth the effort to do a drop net for a couple of rabbits, and the rabbits are coming from the sides of roads and landscaped public area's not a farm or such, no large rabbit populations near by its literally a few rabbits about and the allotments are surrounded by rabbit netting. I have e-mailed my contact at the town council suggesting they let Vincenzo run a few snares....they stopped him snaring as they feared a child getting caught in a snare!..........a few snares would keep any visitors literally short term visitors as the only way in is under the gate

Following a phone call for help last night from the town council, I had an hour on the allotments, they are political on teh allotments, you may all recall the letters to the newspaper following the article after someone else tried shooting on there which led to me getting ferreting permission in the first place........and the ongoing letters to the editor with me and the ANTI exchanging opinions Vincenzo the old italian boy that is teh allotment site manager was there again tagging along and regaling me with his old hunting stories, he has been snaring on the allotments but they have stop

Jill's come into season and stay in season until mated (some vets believe its the full act of penetration and the biting the neck) and then they release their eggs, if not mated as you are aware they stay in season and looking for a mate I have heard of some vasectomised hobs tubes refusing and them making jill's pregnant....it also happens with some people in the past take the hob to a ferret knowledgeable vet, make sure they have done the op before and understand why you want it doing! Leave the hob a few months from the op before using him, thus allowing him to clear his pipes

COMPO replied to tommydeer's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
John has a b itch and she aint registered with the teckel society let alone the KC. Tommydeer wants a KC registered one.......he will struggle to find a KC dachshund from working imported parents I know some people dont like the teckel society ideals......but really they are just a register of imported working teckels, My dog is a cat A teckel society registered dog bought from a member on here and the stud dog owner is also a member and both work their dogs where i do agree with tommydeer is they are truly versatile, and can do lots of things, a true jack of all trades and when sp -

thats spot on, a saying i once heard "just cos its the way we have always done it doesn't make it the best way" new thoughts and idea's can improve things for everyone My best boss at work used to ask everyones ideas and then formulate his own from them, good luck with your boxes John!

Thing about dividers is that if you are just nipping out for a quick, handy go you can put a ferret in one compartment and nets and stuff in the other side without getting your nets tangled up with ferts and no need to take a seperate net bag. Cheers, D. thats what i do with my triple box, locator, camera and sandwiches in one compartment, i have put nets in a spare compartment before too and yes i was thinking like TEMUJIN stuck in grooves for thin bits of wood to slide in folk love gimmicks and trust me that would appeal to people!

On the double and triple boxes! Use slide in and slide out dividers I have a medium sized box i made myself, and a large three compartment box i bought from a commercial manufacturer, now i only use Hobs (a decision i made at the end of this season) the triple box compartments are a bit small for the hobs but OK for Jill's, so i may take out one of the dividers to make a large compartment for the ferret on 2/3rds of the box and the other third for locator/camera/sandwiches etc.....LOL It would be nice to have a triple or double box with grooves and pieces of board that could be sli

Anybody know a good beginners ferreting book?
COMPO replied to kristian's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
what a decent chap! lending the lad a book by mail! And good advice, find someone local who you can tag along with next season, my bible when i was growing up and learning about ferreting was graham wellsteads "the ferret and ferreting guide" i have read several since and Donnie's advice about taking the best bits is sound advice, not everything that is written will be useful/applicable for you, -

Cut from wikipedia Other uses of ferrets Ferrets have been used to run wires and cables through large conduits. Event organizers in London used ferrets to run TV and sound cables for both the wedding of Charles, Prince of Wales to Lady Diana Spencer, and for the "Party in the Park" concert held in Greenwich Park on Millennium Eve.[30] One ferret, Freddie, was even registered as an electrician's assistant with the New Zealand Electrical Workers Union.[31] Because they share many anatomical and physiological features with humans, ferrets are extensively used as experimental subjects in

they were used under the false floor in Westminster abbey to lay string, that pulled through the wires etc...for the cameras for charles and diana's wedding Some electricians use them for pulling string through gaps which they can then use the string to pull wires through i believe they have been used such on some big films! and yes i heard that about BT Ferret racing developed from such uses, apparently texan pipe layers used them for running cables down pipes when they were making oil pipes, and that it was the bored labourers with their big hob ferrets started betting on who

I have a few of these in the fridge for later http://www.hall-woodhouse.co.uk/beers/badg...urstyferret.asp Also like newcastle brown ale, and john smiths smooth! as well as the other hall and woodhouse beers, Tanglefoot is particularly nice (also some in the fridge at the minute!) If he is coming to England sure he would want english beers and ales .....everyone is recommending foreign lagers???? I drink copious amounts of french red wine........but i am just advising on the english beers as he asked!

Thats a big feral ferret there......Hobs will fight at this time of year (hormones) and i reckon if you and the 12gauge hadn't been there, your ferret may have come off worse I am passionate about ferrets but i would shoot a feral ferret in the same circumstances, my brother has had to when he found one in his chickens run, if it wont let you pick it up its gone wild and will cause a lot of problems, and with you having permission you would get the blame for letting a ferret loose!!
