My New Air Arms Tx 200 Hc .177 Got Tested Today !
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in Airgun Hunting
Soon got used Mac - the 100`s re-load and accuracy in action and re-action are just un- touchable mate. For a back up rifle or first choice springer the Rex is literally blowing my expectations away, it is friggin` awesome mate ! It is like my 100`s "can`t miss" " Outstanding springer" - photo`s taken and coming -
Finally got time off work for an hour or two`s shooting. Took the brand new, shiney T-Rex to the farm yard this afternoon, checked zero on 37 yds (.177) - perfect. I was presented with 3 shots in the time i had and took them.(3 wood pigeons). I was pleased, to say the least, with the power and accuracy of the T-Rex. I used AA Fields 8.44 grain, my Rex is doing 11.2 ft/lbs, and all three woodies just "crumpled" with "engine room failure" at 41 yards. This T-Rex is seriously becoming best mates with me and my 100`s.

Excellent post PP, Great to see the hits and the misses - -
I`m looking forward to your thoughts on this one Mitch as i have a lot of AA Fields to use up.

Just spent over two years using the very hard hitting, very accurate, Air Arms Fields diablo, - fantastic combination in the HW 100 formats. .177 - 8.4 grain .22- 16 grain Saying this though i am going to be trying the Air Arms Express 7.9 grain soon after reading some very informative information from VillaMan on here.
-
Hi mate, you know trajectory and accuracy is my baby but the 7.9 grain pellet compared to the 8.44 grain and monster 13 .8 grain (was it) literally shit on them. The energy retention sold me the car Mitch . Again, great post.

What ! What did you mumble Rez ? speak a bit louder lad - 100 ? 100 what You mean HW 100 "Don`t ya" atb

Sounds a great permission, great shooting lads

I`ve been an air gun hunter for well over 40 yrs and the HW 100 kt .177 is by far the best rifle i have owned in pcp. In the springer division the Air Arms TX 200 HC .177 is better than any springer i have previously owned. Would my thoughts be any different in .22 with these rifles ? Well the .22 100 ks i own is lethal. If i owned the T-Rex in .22 i`m sure it would be just as lethal too. Go HW 100 in any format . atb

Check out the Air Arms TX 200 HC before you decide Bob - solid as a rock, superb build and as good as tuned out of the box.
-
That is a cracking read and information VM - it really has got me thinking as to clean the HW 100 kt barrel and switch to AA express 7.88 grain - "now". Rifling twist written in stone and stability in greater mass was another. Thank you mate, "defiantly helpful" oops, definately helpful. I`m sure some of the other .177 lads will take note, maybe even some .22 lads
-
Shooting lads . Out of interest, which calibers are you using and which pellets ? cheers.

I have an AA TX 200 HC and when it is put over my cheapo shooting sticks it becomes so rock steady and accurate its untrue. My cheapo sticks have served me very well in hide shooting and still do but i hear the Primos trigger sticks are the "dogs borrocks" for instant set up (mooching) and all other set ups. Any advice please as i am seriously thinking of buying the Primos

I`ve just finished my "week in hand" too

Personally Mac i would find it easier to shoot .177 before .22. All .22 lads/ gals need to know their mill dots like the back of their hands whereas .177 put the crosshairs on that quarry and squeeze off that trigger within reason that is. Saying that, breeze is more a worry than range in .177. I've been thinking about this this morning. The general consensus is, 177's drift a bit more in the breeze/wind due to being lighter, 22's don't as much due to there extra weight. What about the thought that the larger 'surface area' of a 22... meaning IT is more suseptable to the b
