  2. o well there having dog races at kingsley park monthly or asken i think get your salukis down there to race against there greyounds over a mile see if any take you on be good crack as i says only saw one pure bred doing the big 1200 metre wins ,nothings set in stone at times
  3. no beddie just running dog to running dog mate boy blue was greyhound whippet , tess the daughter was pure greyhound distance bitch to , boy blue , beddie wouldnt add anything into the mix for speed stamina running sense , diffrent type of dog ,
  4. saw a greyhound run 1200 metre marathon and win ,got a pup out of her she ran the same way ,a mile bitch but never saw another , d slieght owned the bitch he bred it with boy blue i had the pup tess , was a real staying dog , she just looked like a saluki greyhound but was pure bred , with both ears tattood , i dont no what 2 km is in meters but a good race for any dog ,i take it 1mile and qaurter is about 1800 metre be some greyhound to do that ,in the old days they would had had distance dogs who would course for three minutes but not in modern day coursing dutch salmon had a big greyhound
  5. shees shaping up jae ,good pup
  6. any body that keeps bedie whipps havent got sense lol jae
  7. good show and a good bit of p r , she could be the flusher with the beagle ,took several over the years hunting and opend there eyes that running dogs dont rip them up etc , good show wales , some didnt like the niose of a roe or hare but they liked the fillets etc ,
  8. you would get a good dog crossing swift with rex , for running ,top dog , its ashame people cant let go of the old days move on and move with the times ,the dogs we had as kids no were the hare dogs we have now , yo got one decent lurcher in every village now there sevral , who are capable in some areas , the coliie cross salukis have been great allrounders but you need the [BANNED TEXT] type of salukis , to dogs simliar to swift , ie bulldozer dogs of that calibre , i was lucky my mates had dogs who were coursing champions so was easy to get a line , and had very good dogs about me , if y
  9. whppets especaily pure ones are very limited as deer dogs and on a fair course would struggle , ive saw good dogs sometimes hardly put a bend in them to big a start , so would like to see the whippet take a good wild fallow on his own patch
  10. jack lee whats a propa lamp dog , and when did the actual guy minshaw stop breeding them the so called minshaw ,swifts a nice dog to look at pity she never came up to the large feilds to run frankel would be nice to see her run in her prime, to many puppy peddlars now in the in the game ,i would say the minshaw shite should die out and be called the cumbrain collie lurcher lol, i reckon if youse had plenty to get on with the last thing you would worry about is the name tag , to sell a few pups ,breed them [BANNED TEXT] and you dont need the internet or pics to sell a dog ,we have whin
  11. staminas alrite but they have to get to there qaurry put it under the cosh and keep at it , had abeardie collie catch bags of rabbits but on the large arable land ,localy tried but didnt have the gears or cleverness to catch hares day in day out great bitch on a lamp , the real good saluki lurchers saw plenty pur lots of hard run hares away and plus good for a daytime course coursing was legal at one time , so we didnt lamp hares as much , best dogs is the ones that take there hare in the middle of the feilds no wall bouncers hedge bouncers , i rate a dog with how he performs notwhat
  12. saw dogs running nite after nite on roe hare they were not , minshaws , just strong saluki lurchers and an old collie lurcher type , put some gear away , on the large arable feilds , some [BANNED TEXT] big chases large slips , but alas the law makes things difficult now to do it ,driving land, walking land, road siding whatever was quickest to get the run and away , if there bred [BANNED TEXT] and really fit suprising what a good dog can do ,
  13. hes scared of the ferrets i think or rabbits ,lol
  14. sounds like a good day but not to much about ,youd think in these areas they would be plenty

  16. wait till summer the whinshaw line will be having some here, very good handlers workers ,fech the rescue ,or better still if you no any good bits, ille take mines along there a hundred percent gaurateed to graft ,lol
  17. ps when you bought flint the guy said he was a beddie lurcher cross whippet greyhound , he has certanly got whippet greyhound in him and a touch of beddie thats for sure , must be hybriid vigour ,just a pity tye was to old and long gone , would had been in his element up there ,he was more in the mould of lana minni dont take prisoner attitude ,every one chased like its there last at times , never saw collie lurchers like them nowadays ,would be good to see
  18. hees doing fine but hees a 23 inch runing dog not a half cross 18 or 19 beddie whippet ,wouldnt give one house room ,i can remember when he was a pup i says heel be like a deerhound lol as he grew fast , bet your glad hees got abit size ,imagine having a wee18 inch yapper to go with the hancock lol you would be glad to get a rabbit ,let alone 3 or 4 , one day jake wil get a rabbit lol, poor bugger got flint minni , in front of him , and clyde now as hees coming into his own ,i remember fallon i had she was some rabbit dog and caut several hare roe she was just ahalf cross but alot difffrent in
  19. im useing harnesses now being alot easier in them ,lol , there must be somebody with a box of ferretcollars, micky dadd
  20. nice wee dogs but very limited , so when it comes down to it there more handier dogs about to be had , i dont no were they fit in as a working dog at times some are terriers ish no pace , some whippety lite but no body , then some with the whippet greyhound blood seem to throw more decent , dogs , i would stick to dogs 20 inch plus and make sure there not rabbit rattlers crunching bones as both whippet and beddie can be bad for it , i like adog who can fetch a rabbit back easy not fighting to hold it and rattling the ribs of a rabbit ,to get a grip , cant see were they fit in as an all
  21. tom i take it you dont eat the rabbits ,steve got simliar looking dogs but no bullin them but saw simliar with just atouch bull but lite built ones good allrounders
  22. been bolting rabbs to dogs for as long as i remember , you need dogs that are sharp and tuned in , need acceleraition and a good mouth only lost maybe 1 or 2 rabbits yesterday , dogs are pretty clever at the game and its quick sport ,i think you need dogs that are tuned into whats going on underneath so there in the [BANNED TEXT] position , but ive had near salukis , allsorts at the game , never get bored with it , unless there not bolting but thats when expierence comes in to no , what buries are easy and what ones are stickers , all the best
