  1. This is extraordinary........and proof of how truly incredible and humbling nature can be ! http://metro.co.uk/2017/12/13/shark-found-wild-believed-512-years-old-7156643/
  2. I'd guess that's a whole new search ! Please don't..............not even for 'research' purposes !
  3. I can't claim any credit - this was written by a friend of mine, who writes under the name Rappa Blue, but I thought it good enough (and funny enough !) to share, with his permission, of course.......... Went to the school’s nativity play, All the kiddies dressed-up, cheeky and gay, Together in the stable chickens, donkey and sheep, Even a “Desert Storm” camo Jeep, I expected a serene view of Heaven, But Wayne was sporting an AK-47, Teachers can’t spell – they labelled the “Manger”, “The Minger” to which the audience was no stranger, Brooklyn was asked to sing a
  4. But there's getting it wrong, and getting it wrong, because you made no chuffing effort. Case in point - my late dad once bought my mum a new Hoover for Xmas ! (He saw the funny side.......once the bruises had healed.)
  5. I also play a minimal part.........can't be ar5ed with it all ! Every year, without fail, the good lady tells me "we're only buying for children." And every year, she's frantically wrapping her endless online purchases, and telling me we've forgotten someone we haven't seen or heard from all year ! She sends cards to people I thought were dead, and gets them from relatives I've never met ! Stuff and f***ing nonsense, this Christmas lark !
  6. I've only ever seen clips, and I haven't the first clue about rules (if there are any !), but definitely not a game for the faint hearted !
  7. I understood it to be semi-organised violence, where some kind of ball game breaks out now and again...........
  8. He was a big noise in local trade unions, before he was famous.........building trades, I think. I'm pretty sure that at one time, he got banged up over some trade union dispute or other.........
  9. There's some truth in that ! I've managed it several times between the ages of 50 and 54 ! Not much grows in the shade, though !
  10. My weight tends to fluctuate according to the time of year. I like to stay in shape - this month's shape is a sack of spuds !
  11. She's not "homeless for Christmas" (sadly,) - she's got a dirty great house in the Cotswolds ! And the diplomats didn't "refuse to leave" - they asked for a couple of extra days to sort some of their affairs out, which Silly Lilly helpfully refused them ! Lets light a candle and cry for poor, downtrodden Lilly - victim........but only of the media 5hitstorm that SHE tried to whip up ! Karma's a bitch...........isn't it ?

Snowed all day yesterday here....... That was 9am yesterday............and forecast -10 tonight !
  13. We had a knock a the door, collecting for Dr. Barnados...........so I gave them 2 of the kids !
  14. That femur bone in the middle picture looks way too big to be human.........and the foot looks too big to belong to that skull............and its not half a skeleton unless the person had two heads ! Nice Shakespeare reference in the title, though !
  15. F***ing idiot couldn't even kill himself properly !
  16. That's a shame. Not a fan (if I'm honest, I thought he was a bit of a berk), but I guess he was a nice enough fella.........and 60 is no age for anyone else to go !
  17. On my first day at comp, a lad called Mark Chapman (typical cowardly bully), grabbed my shirt and demanded my dinner money. I twatted him, giving him a bloody nose - he never reported me, for fear of looking a prat, and never came near me again, preferring easier prey ! At the other end of the spectrum, was a kid called Philip Comrie - tiny little lad in wire rimmed specs. Every day, his mum walked him to school, and kissed him goodbye at the gates ! (What WAS she thinking ?) Chapman made his life a misery, but I'll tell you who was even worse than him - girls ! There is nothing as viciou
  18. Check out Susannah Lipscomb..........you'll develop a sudden love of history programmes !
  19. Just watched this on BBC4. If you get a chance, have a watch on iPlayer or whatever you use. Presented by the officer and gentleman that is Dick Strawbridge and Professor Alice Roberts , it looks at the locations of Arthur Ransome's novels - the Lake District, Norfolk Broads and Naze estuary.......the geology, wildlife, history and evolution of these wonderful places ! I stumbled on it by accident........and spent a very pleasurable hour !
  20. It's nice to be important..........but it's important to be nice ! Well done, Ken ! Decency and manners seem to be in short supply these days........(especially when the same handful of tw4ts can't resist having a pop !)
  21. Welcome mate ! We used to have days out in Matlock, "when I were't lad".........lovely part of the country !
  22. Me too ! I use my parallax adjustment as an approximate range finder...........
