    I've got a 3 month old Beddy Whippet and, like you, this is my first, so I don't claim any expertise. However...... While I'm out with him, I just let him run if he wants to - I don't encourage him to run, and I keep him on a long line for now, so he doesn't overdo it. To my mind, he should be putting most of his energy into growing......... I'm sure your dog is already quick, but like the other lads have said, don't be tempted to do too much, too early.

    I'm from Nottingham, and I lived in Mansfield Wood'us for a few years ! "Awrate yothe" I've always said "Suthell"......." Bliduth and Renuth" come and go - I haven't lived 'up hom' for 15 years or more, so I've lost a lot of my accent.........sadly

    My eldest stepson is looking for a friendly airgun club in or around Nottingham. He's ideally looking for somewhere north of the Trent (he lives near Bulwell), but he's not bothered whether it's indoor or out. Should perhaps mention that he's in his early 30's, so he's reliable and sensible. He's 'Googled', but there's nothing like a personal recommendation..... Any suggestions, gents ? Cheers BB

    Go see the doktor,could be hypoglycemia (diabetes) and get your blood sugar tested. +1...If you're also tired, lethargic, have a dry mouth and peeing a lot (or any couple of these) see your doctor ASAP !As you've stopped smoking and drinking, you're probably experiencing cravings, which you're interpreting as hunger. Solution ? To determine when you're actually hungry ,and when youre just psychologically 'filling a gap'.......get the diabetes check done, if you're in any doubt, though !     Spot on TC. The finer skills of a top class spin bowler are extraordinary ! I could watch Muttiah Muralitharan or Harbajan Singh all day long. They once tried to analyse a Shane Warne delivery on that Hawkeye technology - it said that the physics of the flight and deviation of the ball were impossible to compute !

    .......and I don't think for a second that anyone is defending or excusing Japanese military aggression...but the killing of thousands of civilians, in an instant ? That's the issue under discussion here, is it not ?

    Kept the peace????? Hahaha....... I'd be prepared to wager that we haven't seen a single day of peace, since the end of the War ! I'd also bet that, if the Bomb had not been developed, the world would be in exactly the state it is now !

    The Americans had been fire-bombing Japanese cities for some time, before using the atomic bomb, so the Japanese question whether the use was even necessary. As TC said, the destruction was awful and total - an entire city levelled to the ground and tens of thousands of unarmed civilians killed, totally unable to protect themselves. It may have expedited the end of the War, but a part of me thinks it was one of mankind's darkest days.........
