  1. This whole story is an utter fabrication, a tissue of lies and a complete falsehood ! My evidence ? Consider this, ladies and gentlemen of the jury - 20 degrees ! In Ireland ? And we are expected to believe rhis nonsense ! I think not....
  2. Bang on that gnasher. Nail on the head. We must throw 2 meals a week away in my house. Because someone changed their mind or we got too much. We both work full time, got decent paid jobs so why shouldn't we buy what we want and do what we want with it? Maybe it's a generation thing. My old man goes mad. When he was a lad they got a choice of a wagon wheel or a yoghurt. And that was their weekly treat. Lol 1 - Surely you've got better things to do with your money than throw it away ? 2 - Isn't it morally wrong that an animal should be killed and not used to its fullest extent ? 3 - Con
  3. Loved 7.....hated 8 - got rid after a couple of months. Android all the way now.......
  4. That depends on how long you've lived on your own.......
  5. Funnily enough, I found her slumped on the grass the other day.......the f***ing dog had dug her up again !
  6. I'll happily buy the short-dated meat and fish at the supermarket that's being knocked out cheap - got big bag of herrings the other night, 65p and turned out to be 6 fish. Big Turkey leg 30p - that went to the dog's, via the mincer. Pork shoulder joints £3 and a couple of rainbow trout for 80p........
  7. Got any of that agricultural stuff left........mate ?
  8. Nash, i'm fairly sure you could feed a family of 5 for around £15 or just over with fresh veg and meat. £3 per person for a decent roast dinner.....nah im not having that. The Old Red Lion in Houghton Regis does a 6 day a week carvery for £3.95 each - choice of Turkey, gammon, beef or 1\2 a chicken and all the veg you can eat (peas, carrots, sweet corn, cabbage, cauli, mash and roast potatoes and a Yorkie pud thrown in !).......... We take the ma-in-law once a month.
  9. We keep a stock, of course ! Well, the street corner begging doesn't always go that well ! But I mean the people who have so much stuff, the cupboards can barely stay on the wall ! I've a friend who can hardly shut the fridge, but a week later, its empty - "it was out of date, so I chucked it out !" - and he doesn't see the solution ! Don't buy so much!
  10. Easy.....you just eat the chicken the following night or are suggesting just tossing the chicken in the bin because you don't fancy it? Well that's your business, I couldn't care less what you do......but we haven't reached that level of extravagance yet in this house haha.... Once again, agreed ! Certainly in this house, food isn't a throw-away commodity, to be discarded willy-nilly like yesterday's newspaper ! My wife's stepmum goes through the fridge every few days and throws away stuff the day before it's SELL-BY date ! Because, obviously, food becomes toxic at midnight on the day b
  11. I want to get rid of my wife, Ivy, and......not really ! When we moved here I had to clear the eaves and gutters, and I've pulled it back off the walls, but my fence is still covered on all sides with ivy. It's grown across next door and covers the nearest tree and lamp-post, and is starting to cover the pavement outside. The wife is sick and tired of it, but I don't want to just pull at it and damage the fence underneath. Is there something I can spray on it or apply to it, to kill it off to make removing it easier ? Preferably something that works quite quickly !
  12. We shop every couple of days, just buying what we need, and we keep a couple of loaves and bottles of milk in the chest freezer ( with the dog food !), 'for emergencies' - I can't imagine what kind of catastrophe could be resolved by making bread and butter pudding, but hey-ho ! To my mind, if I have, say, £100 of shopping in the cupboards, that's £100 of MY money sitting in Tesco's bank account, making interest for them - I prefer to keep my money in my pocket ! As a lad, we were quite a poor family, and throwing food away was almost a deadly sin ! We didn't get uneaten cabbage for br
  13. I'm also an ex-smoker (20+ a day for 30 years), but I don't think it's my place to support a ban on a legal activity that I used to take part in ! Successive governments chip away, you can't smoke here, you can't smoke there, but they quite happily collect the tax on fags. I'd never go back to it, but if a person wants to smoke that's nowt to do with me !
  14. The amount that NHS spends on treating smoking related diseases, varies between £2.5 and £6 billion a year, depending on your source, and there's lots of methods to calculate the figure. The amount of tax collected on tobacco is a lot easier to ascertain.......in 2013, the figure was £9.7 billion in excise duty and £2.6 billion in VAT - a total of £12.3 billion !
  15. Spot on jacknife.........I really don't get this myth perpetrated by a lot of folk, that the weekly/monthly big shop is more economical......what a load of bollocks! Trawling around a supermarket for an hour filling your trolley to the brim with fcuking garbage that a large percentage of will get wasted anyway, fcuk that! I shop every day, the fridge always looks sparse & there's way more dog food in the freezer than our food, but we waste fcuk all! Agreed mate ! The 'Big Shop' clearly ISN'T economical, as about half of it gets chucked away !
  16. Call for pub garden smoking ban - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-33883188 Are we inexorably towards a total ban ? If the health fascists have their way..........
  17. British families waste twice as much food as other Europeans... Vegetables are the most discarded, with households throwing away 45% of what they buy. We also waste 41% of fruit, 29% of cereals, 23% of meat and 17% of eggs. Overall, each household throws away between and 110kg of food - a lot of it completely edible ! The average family would save around £60 a month by eliminating wastage. Several reasons are given for this huge wastage, but the easy availability of fast food has been highlighted. Consumers are also thought to be confused by the use of 'display until', 'sell by'
  18. I could be wrong, butI'm getting the feeling that you don't care for him very much, Gnash ?. Don't know much about him, to be honest, but he does strike me a s a man who believes his own publicity !
  19. I have a Hungarian friend who gave me a bottle of plum Palinka he made.........60+% !!
  20. When I saw the photo, my initial thought was towards Comets or Gamo......
  21. I gave him my BSA Lightning for his birthday last week, as hes mad keen. He just wants a second one to strip down and tinker about with.......and he's just told me he got it for a tenner ! I think he might have the bug........
  22. I heard that the BBC had hired him as a pundit, despite his conviction for assault. The same corporation that sacked Jeremy Clarkson for............assault !
  23. Shows how much I know......he's just bought it for 20 quid ! And for that amount, who cares what it is ?
  24. I've suggested having a few shots and if he's happy with it, offer 50 quid, but I always was a cheeky fecker ! He's a sensible lad, but he's new to this and doesn't want to be ripped off....
