  2. I reckon Scott welch could play Lennie, and do him justice
  3. I never saw anyone even come close to handling Lennie on doors,he would always get lads trying to make a name for themself but most times a simple growl or stare was enough......he was 10 or 12 years older than me so i never saw him fight on the cobbles in his prime but saw him several times over Wanstead Flats and a couple of times in fights out the back of his cousins yard and it was never pleasant to watch i suppose 2 or 3 minutes was as much as most people could take before either being ironed out or saying enough. As for steroids he wouldnt of known what to do with them he just had a na
  4. So what your saying is Taffey is a model haha A model citizen
  5. Lol, wonder if that's why the recipe said to cook it on the bottom of the oven to stop the bottom raising ?, anyway it's a recipe that i liked the look of in one of jamie olivers books, steak, guinness, and cheddar, just altered a bit to suit myself, must have been on the bottom of the oven for a good hour, then i put it on the middle shelf for about 15 minutes to get a bit more colour, and it rose nicely top only lol, very nice, and i'm well chuffed with my first attempt, still got enough filling left to make another one aswell
  6. Free range aldi lol. Cheers folks I enjoying bit of cooking then the odd day I just cant be arsed and its some thing out a tin Nothing wrong with the odd tin mate, cannot eat big old home made pies all the time, you'd end up like a hoose end lol
  7. yes Neil, well spotted. They're extinct as a breeding species in the UK, but we do get the odd influx of migrants, though they can't really over winter here anymore. Here's one I reared earlier.... That's a peach JD, what's the problem with the overwintering, do they need a colder climate than what we've got here these days ?
  8. Like the glaze on your pies lol, is that organic egg wash ?
  9. Well, i've just made my first attempt at a pie filling, and this is it- 3 medium onions roughly chopped then gently fried in oil for about 10 minutes, then added a large knob of unsalted butter with 2 large sliced carrots, 4 sliced cloves of garlic, 4 sliced forrestiere mushrooms, about 1.5 lb of venison haunch, sea salt flakes, teaspoon of pepper, mixed herbs, 440 ml can of xx original guinness and a scattering of plain flour, and some water to cover, poured into pyrex ovenproof dish, could have done with a bigger one lol, lid on, and in the oven slow cooking, smells lovely, top it off with v
  10. dont bet on it. Years ago there was lurchers fed on school dinner left overs, and all sorts of low protein feeds that would be looked down on by most of us these days, but it did'nt stop them filling the freezer, and buying the ale lol
  11. Dont know anything myself, but after reading unbiased reports on the subject, it made it hard for me to feel any good could come from using supplements, particularly protein, creatine, or bcaa's
  12. Add a bit of the seaweed stuff a few times a week, and when we go to the beach the dogs always eat the seaweed, there must be some very wealthy people out there thanks to the naivety of people willing to spend a fortune on all kinds of powder form supplements, just like the stuff we can buy for our own consumption, the powder and the glory lol, it's feckin horrible garbage
  13. Possible repeat mating of mike brown line, last litter produced were superb pups
  14. Good while since i saw him, but i'm going by his place today so will call in, dont think he's been used as a gundog though, more mouching about i would have thought, i'll get back to you mate

  18. Cannot make them out very well on this phone screen, but i bet they will look good hanging on the wall, last time i went to an auction i picked up a character jug of the pied piper, and he's settled right in
  19. You're too young to be a moucher yet mate, give it time, once the back, hips, knees, and other parts start dropping to bits, you'll be ready to hobble alongside the hedgerows trying to keep your jukel in sight
  20. Like WK says get yourself over the windy fields, and put your ferret down the right hole
  21. Bet there will be plenty of moody hot dog stands with the half cooked onions lol
