  1. like um all but the light grey/sandy coloured 1 is mint
  2. anyone got a 3/4 whippet, 1/4 beddy or whippet//greyhound x beddy/whippet or greyhound anywhere along those lines... any pics lads ???
  3. absolute noddy's there is literally no excuse for this level of stupidity
  4. flacko, I took this dog as a beginner at 18 months old and turned it into a fully fledged working animal, his bed is clean, fed only the best I can provide, and is physically and mentally simulated on a daily basis. don't patronise the kind of a true dogman, for a dog that supposedly wouldn't use his mouth, he has done the lot for me...
  5. not talkin about 2 different dogs mate, the black dog in the picture is him as a 15 month old pup, his age at present is about 2 and half
  6. unfortunately dogs of all breeds get chucked about left right centre there really should be some sort of licencing system for anyone who wants to breed
  7. easier said than done but... forget age on this subject, it depends on the individuality and breeding of the dog in question. Also weather or not the pup has been exposed to stock appropriately before trying to catch something letting and discouraging your pup to use its mouth on old skins/fur/wool/feather is a good way to teach the pup what it can and cannot mouth larger hounds in general take longer to mature enough mentally to be successful in catching something, bare that in mind obviously game is taken much more easily on the lamp, I therefore feel that it is necessary to intr
  8. am sure a lot of folk will relate to that mate, overshooting, typical in a young keen pup, like u say tho at least he's coming back in off the lamp looks a nice type that, how's he bred??
  9. just enough before your dog gets board... your call... some dogs will retrieve anything u throw all day long... others may get board after a few chucks ATB TOM HEAVY
  10. Aye, the black dog didn't really do anything till i got hold of him off a friend at about 17-18 months, I could see potential in him and really liked him so decided to take the plunge, at first he was a bag of shite, but this season he's took everything with an impressive catch rate, turns and gets down brilliant for a dog of 27tts, to say I am pleased with his progression is an understatement the pup is a beautiful looking sapling and is pretty much what I'm after out of my dog when bred to the right bitch if I can find 1!! like u say tho no rush on it... ATB with everything in th
  11. yea he seems to get better every time i do something with him, like i said before it just takes him longer to figure it out, whats that fawn dog in the pic of yours?? Do you know this dog, how do you know he is a late starter????
  12. he is just not as intelligent then that of a collie cross say, it takes him longer to work situations out, its more evident in situations like ferreting for example. Obviously a good brain isn't everything and he deffo makes up for it in his drive and running ability but for a very good all rounder i believe a good mix of brain and drive is needed
  13. the dog in question as a 15 month old pup, real-en
  14. aye fair comment, wouldn't mind lining my own dog...saluki/bull/greyhound with summert similar of your mentioned breeding... along the lines of deer/grey/wheaten/collie, for a bit more brain/nose/coat in the hope of a chance in producing a good all round litter. My dog is good allround but lacks on the mentioned qualities. If I could find a bitch of all round ability with the mentioned qualities being at the forefront of the bitch I would deffo line in agreement ATB, TOM HEAVY
