  1. Bird, hope u don't mind me asking, how much did this visit cost you?
  2. I know some lads won't go near a vet unless the dog is clearly kappered, if the swelling continues to reduce is there any point in taking him? could he have a hair line crack in a bone?? yea I had better get him checked me thinks???!!
  3. yea the graze not a prob, had plenty of them, I used dry savlon plaster spray, and the always heel quick. More worried about the swelling tho, any thoughts on this mate?
  4. alright lads, was out lamping last night and unfortunately my dog hit a wire fence square on, he has a nasty graze on his chest which has removed a 2 inch section of is fur and most worryingly some quite visible swelling on the top of his shoulders. It is obvious to say that I shat my pants, however, he yelped, got up and trotted over, bless him, I was very relieved. He walked back to the car ok, he was fed and put in his kennel straight away. This morning, the swelling has reduced somewhat but is still visible, the dog seems ok, but I can definitely tell he is sore. I am compensating
  5. well done lads, what a reward for staying out!! both dogs and owners must be at peak fitness and very well trained, I live for a night out like this, well impressed !!
  6. reason for chain is to stop him chewing, its good for unclipping and tying round a post if your going in a shop... I guess I used it to go to the shop once or twice then it jus stuck... fuk it its only a lead
  7. hi all, so this is my pride and joy, whippet/grey type 12 months old, 24 tts, treat trained with all basic training completed jus needs to be run on a few now, not easy where I'm from!! Starting him on the bike doing a few miles trotting. A few sprints included on the field, well I'm sprinting on my bike, doubt the dog will be though!! I think he's done really well considering I got him at 5 months old and barely been walked!! what u guys think?? roll on winter!!!
  8. thanks for your thoughts lads all took into consideration, definitely going to wait till this season is finished till I bring1 in.
  9. alright lads, had my dog since he was 4 months old (1st one) he is now coming up 12 months, still very puppyish, sometime he'll push it other times a delight. Much more obedient as a younger pup. Anyway I'm thinking of bringing in a 8-12 week new pup.. When do you lads think the best time to do this is? and what are your good/bad experience in doing so??
  10. lol, i get the general impression of these breeds are not worth bothering with then, they do look class tho
  11. what about these... This is a manchester terrier, they only about 16 inch, they ment to be rapid tho, like the look of these too...
  12. Wikipedia specifically mentions rabbit, but they are around 22-24 inch so i wreckon hare and fox too ???
  13. Hi all, These Mediterranean sighthounds bred for hunting look nice!! just wondered if anyone has come across them in cross breeds or pedigree? also has anyone seen these run before? Ibizan hound pharaho hound
  14. oh sugar this tread opens my eyes a bit.... my dog (7months) yaps at another dog in the car or on the lead for 5 mins or so with the prospect of a chase and play, as soon as he's outside and playing he's fine, growling when in playing mode with another pup. Do u wreckon my dog cud be at risk of yap syndrome? he has chased before but never made a sound ??? i guess time will tell as by next season he will under the conditioning process and ready for some serious work, but will he YAP!!??

  17. hi all, my pup is 6 months now and he is recently undergoing the biggest mental change of his life, i want to start getting him to retrieve and plan to buy a small rugby ball (slightly flat) for me to grubber kick and for him to chase and hopefully bring back awarding when necessary. does anyone have any tips/pointers on this type of training or any previous experience in success or fails in retreve training???
  18. thanks for comments lads, does anyone know if u can get them tested for their breeding ?
  19. yea got told it was a whippet x gray off the previous owners but without seeing the dogs parents i cud never know, he was bought and bred by travalers so the likely hood of it being whippet x / gray x is high i think
