  1. got a good one there mate, very nice head lets us know how it pans out....... snap.
  2. the heavy barrel will need to be free floating also to shoot well at 600 - 1000 yards, A second hand mauser 98 or parker hale, will be project and take time to finish if your on a tight budget but they WILL be shooters, of the 2 you chose, the remmy would also be my choice, aftermarket parts are made by all leading brands for the remmy, you can do a little at a time as you go, trigger would be first on the list..... the stock etc.... your budget won't stretch far but look at secondhand quality optics they can be had at reasonalbe prices if you keep your eyes open....
  3. mc millian is more like a 6 month wait at the minute, so that means allow 7 months for it trust me.........
  4. 42.9g varget with 58g v-max, 3662fps 1/2 inch groups, tikka M595 .243
  5. yes i couldn't agree more mate, 10 years old, she should sign a record contract now, at least she can sing live, not like, ga ga, spears, and all those other clowns........
  6. Its published in the irish shooters digest......... bet they do well this year....................

  9. Welcome to THL mate, i see you brought the PH over with you............ Snap.
  10. yes birthday happy trace, have a good day........
  11. Yes DO NOT touch anything if it doesn't shoot as this will void the warrenty, as a person i know has found out by taking away the pressure points, i hope she does you proud.....
  12. i tore ligaments in my foot a few years back, very badly, took me about 18 weeks to walk on it, bloody worse than a break and i fainted with the pain when it happened.... So i know how you feel mate, Snap.
  13. i get it really really bad, and suffer loads over the summer, i tried the steriod injection for a few years which worked but i they found out that it causes brittle bones so stopped, my chemist said to take clarityn and flixonase, for a week together and then flixonase only every morning and i gave me fairly good relief last year and the year before, takeing local honey helps, to build up your system slowly, but its a bugger to get with all the bees dying....... poor us, all summer indoors with our pastey complection's, Snap.
  14. to get a true accuracy reading a five shot group in my humble opinion is essential, i'm not taking anything away from yourself or mr. logic, but try it and see the difference 2 shots make.... Now for me i'd go for the tikka, as now right this minute 3 remmy's that i know off in the area aren't shooting below 3 inches at 100 yards with any ammo, i blame the pressure points at the front of the barrel, as they don't seem to be putting the same pressure at both points on the barrel, So i'm really intrested to see how things pan out, there will be a few tikka's that don't shoot
  15. those loads may shoot well in your rifle rio, but loads should be worked up with care, 2.640" is factory standard for 87g and this should be standard for a novice reloader, not nit picking at you mate, just want the guy to enjoy reloading safely...... the best advice i can give you mate, is learn from some-one with experience, always be safe and know what your doing...... Snap.
  16. We all have our own path to walk in life, and rise or fall by the decisions we make, Your sticking to your moral beliefs, And for that you must be aplauded......... .................. see Snap.
  17. The sak at 30 quid or around is a popular make, and does the job for the money, When its done just buy a new one, Snap.
  18. Buy yourself some callipers mate, For the money they are one of the most important tools you could have....... Snap.
  19. most common teists in the .243 are 1 in 10 or 1 in 9 1/8, The .243 shooting 107g bullets will need a 1 in 8 twist to stabilize them, good powders to try are vit n140, vit n 160, varget, and imr 4831, and reloader 15 or 19 depending on bullet weight.... varget is a very good powder in the .243, Snap.
