  1. very nice pics i like the 4th too very funny...
  2. Soldier, sniper, superman, spiderman, security man, spaceman, slash, from gun's and roses......
  3. Very nice mate, Should be a little belter...
  4. they will be just behind the facia board, and if it is a honeybee swarm you should get in contact with your local bee keepers, snap.
  5. Why is it addicitive, for me seeing whats out there, nature, the stalk, the shot, the skill envolved...... the scenery... Time away from all the daily stresses in life....
  6. the .17 hmr is indeed a flat shooting rimfire round but the say he has to take in the curvature of the earth is for want of a better word complete bollox.... With a 100 yard zero the .17g bullet will drop nearly 9" at 200 yards and nearly 3 feet at 300 yrd's, now at the 1500 yard to 2000 yard mark then the earths curve starts to take effect but not to a large extent..... even with a zero of 150 yards the .17g bullet will drop 30" + at 300 yards..... So just let him keep talking nonsense....... he's on what i call an ego trip......
  7. See if he will change them for other bullets you want, if not try selling them to someone you know shoots them..... if you get varget give me a shout.
  8. varget is a great powder for both.......... go with the 87g bthp by hornady for the munties..... snap.
  9. this is indeed for real, i've watched a few such programmes about this, takes great skill but is achieveable.......
  10. This about sums up moly. It came in with a tremendous fanfare everyone clambered for it including the bench rest boys - its only now a few die hards that insist its fantastic. Yes I tried it - takes about 20 shots to get your bore run in to moly. bullets were accurate but no better than non moly and (at the time) were more expensive. Took me about 6 hours to remove the moly from the bore. I think a lot of the gun shops sum up its popularity - when you phone them and ask "have you got any **grain heads?" Their reply "yes but only in moly" Its become a very limited market N15

  13. Sounder i prefer non coated myself, as the ammount of velocity lost is neither here nor there, As for barrel wear, i think it neither here nor there either in a hunting rifle.....
  14. you will need to give the barrel a very good clean if you change from moly coated bullets, you can still shoot non coated Snap.
  15. Why cut it at all, In a heavy bullet such as the 100g for .243, you need both velocity, and twist to stabilize the bullet, how ever if cutting short then a heavier bullet may tend not to stabilize fully and yaw its way to the target, accuracy wise you should notice no real difference at normal ranges, but velocity will be any where between 20 and 50 feet per sec down per inch cut off.... i'm extending my barrel length on the build from 22 to 24.5" for added velocity, also long range varminting where velocity is necessary to keep bullet drop minimal... i would chop to 22" personally if
  16. Thanks for the advice Mr. Logic, I understand and agree with what you say. And if it was just me to please I would have the two rifles but alas I have a budget and she is more savvy these days, the old one of telling her it cost £300-00 less than it did doesn’t wash no more. Ned The only advice i can give bar the above is to ask yourself what will the rifle mainly be ised for if foxes, and deer mainly i'd go with the tikka occasional target work still tikka, if your going to shoot more targets than foxes or deer get the remmy.. snap.
  17. i hope hope she does you proud mate... you've bought qulity, and also a good build platform should you wish to do a semi custom job........ snap.
  18. Well done on the vermin mate, nice shooting, as long as you remember safety first your of to a flying start...... looking forward to seeing more of your posts now that your out on your own....
  19. best wishes lass, don't be drinking too much cider now.................
  20. the base should be around 100 stg or around that, i'd still go zesis conquest, i cannot praise this scope enough for a 1 inch tube clarity is excellent, its also light, positive rotation, good general mag for a bit of everything. snap.
  21. just a word about the remmy, i know of a few that aren't shooting at all well at the minute from new, the pressure bedding at the fore-end seems to be the trouble, and the crown of one looks like some-one put a blunt drill down it.... if at all possible try and shoot the gun you may wish to purchase...... they are a good gun but like everything a few bad ones always get out there too... snap.
  22. Seeing the title i thought you went all silence of the lambs............
  23. looks like the 75 wins hands down so far....... the 85 just doesn't feel as well built it's like the tikka shift from the m595 and 695 to the t3 model..... a little downward trend in costcutting..... don't get me wrong the t3 is a good gun, but the stock is a joke compared to earlier models.... Snap.
  24. the stock on the 75 seems a little stiffer to me and just feels better built, i have handled and shot both and both are accurate, the modern trend is to cut corners on quality, or finish, and if your getting a good deal on the older 75 and can get it screw cut for less than the cost of the 85 then that is the route i would take personally.... however in saying that they are both quality guns, good luck with whatever you decide... snap.
