  1. Never had a dirty kennel dog, thank feck... but i know plenty that have and no matter how they are raised, how clean you keep their kennels, they just don't give a feck. As for wasp stings, this loon has, after 5 years of eating, never been stung..! Or at least never that i've noticed. It's when they go down live that worries me but as yet, nothing!
  2. Yep, i like a dog that uses a hedge or long grass or sommat. My path shitter dont like getting her arse tickled by grass and the other one loves it... ?
  3. Just wondering what things anoy you with your dogs. The strange quirks they have, other than work. At the moment i own a wasp eater. A dog that loves to catch wasps and gobbles them up with relish.. ? How the hell she isn't stung i don't know, though she moves like lightening to catch them and eats them as soon as they hit the deck, alive or dead..!! The same dog is also a path shitter, another pet hate, of which i have owned 3 in my lifetime. A path shitter is the dog that must race ahead of you on every walk and crap directly on the path you are walking. This little practice i
  4. I thought a drone campaign would be their main driver for that reason but... ?
  5. Finally got round to watching Gran Torino with Clint... Enjoyed it, though the Hmong actors were all novices and in some scenes were a bit ropey... 8/10 Edited to add, the song at the end of the film, Gran Torino sung by Jamie Cullum is haunting. That gets a 10/10 !!
  6. Never knew they used planes for poaching. I thought it was all helicopters and drones over there? Helicopters are just about impossible to get away from and even if you get back to your vehicle it's pretty much game over, your just gonna end up in a pointless and dangerous chase, with the inevitable outcome... Nope if your gonna get nicked, then get nicked in style, make sure your in the middle of the sloppiest field you can get too and wait for the cavelry to arrive. If you've got decent weatherproof gear on, get that mud and shite all over you (and your dogs) Just watch their faces
  7. Lovely pup there, all the best to long and fruitful hunting together ?
  8. I've got it here, bought it when it came out, for more info on the coyote hounds i'd seen in Walshes book. I'd agree with you mate, I didn't make much of it either... ?
  9. A few come up most days on Facebook coursing and lurcher pages. Well bred dogs too, so the ad's say... Hard part is beating the others to the punch... ?
  10. Mine, this will be her first full season. She had a few bunnies at the back end of the season and a couple of runs before the fields got high. Really looking forward to see what she's about..

    Rip big man

TBH i've never watched Seinfeld, nor friends but i didn't mind an episode of Cheers... I'm more like that Grandpa from the film The Lost Boys... Who, as his grandson flicks through the newly delivered TV Guide and asks ' Grandpa where's the tv?' Replys, "if you read the tv guide, you don't need a tv" ?

  15. Yep Allan, and that really is the crux, he doesn't need to do it...!! Both his and his brothers dogs are in Walshes Lurchers & Longdogs book and if i recall right it says they are line bred types there. 40+ years of history right there and then the family history with the line takes them far beyond any line i know of, without going into the Norman conquest type bullshit. It's a lovely type and look built to put gear in the bag and given a keen owner i'd bet they'd do just that..!
  16. Really nice looking dog there... Not seen a Burrell dog i've not liked to be honest. I've always liked that type and dispite the flannel on the lines 800 year old history, line bred lurchers of that type are a rare thing. I'd take a punt on one before many other types...
  17. Well played Ray??, there's nowt that can take lifes stresses away better than belly laughing fun with kids. You'll feel it tomorrow though.. ?
  18. THLPatrick he was on here. Yer young Paddy, been living in Hong Kong for about 5 years and as AT said, the party's never stopped..! Went over in banking recruitment and now does personal fitness. Kids sharp, though mad as a box of frogs with it... ? Still dreams of coming back and having a kennel full of workers. ?
  19. Just what i was thinking, could of gone an rescued sommat. And there's no sadder sight than a lurcher denied it's true instincts...
