  1. As your topic appears to be in the wrong section, (a non hunting post), we have moved it to the appropriate forum. Read the forum rules, top of the section. This is an automatically generated reply.
  2. I'd try an get a copy LPD, as good a country read as you'll get. Forgot to add to the original post, that this would be well worth a read for anyone living in that area.
  3. I've just finished reading this book, for the 'umpteenth' time. I really don't have a clue as to how many times i've read it but it was bought, back in the 80's and I always re-read books I enjoy but this one has escaped me for many years. My 3 year old daughter has a bit of a fascination with its cover, as it shows a old print of a 'Keeper', Warrener or Poacher (??) with his two dogs, a Terrier, of Russell type, a Collie type and a few caught rabbits. The Terrier looks like a little dog down the road and so she pulls it from the bookshelf constantly to look at 'Patch' and that is how I ca
  4. If your looking for a film about 'da hood' then I'd suggest a film called 'Fresh'... As for 'Once Upon A Time..' It's flawed. I'd agree with all posted about its brilliance, apart from its ending...
  5. They would be gone mate they have no off switch and massive drive ...... Mine are never on a lead but then I don't take them anywhere near traffic ... I am lucky that I live on a farm track in the middle of nowhere ... However it can be a pain being constantly off the lead just this afternoon my old bitch followed by the pup ran up over a small hill and when I followed they were both hundreds of meters away chasing 5 roe deer into the distance ... The pup came back after Bout a minuet thank feck but he old bitch didn't appear for a good five minuets ... No blood on her so no deer to track

  7. Feckin hell Tiercel... are you after an apprenticeship under Sherlock..? I often wonder (as I'll bet most of you lot do too) why they offered me a Mod job, because I can't suss any former posters without technical help...!!!!
  8. I've often wondered why every time you see those sled dogs at rest they are always tethered, in the middle of feckin nowhere too..!! Maybe if they were off they'd just keep feckin runnin...?

  10. I remember sitting with my Grandad to watch the Minter/Hagler fight, he said it would be a cracker.... Now my Grandad had done a bit back in the day, Pro boxer between the wars, trained under Laddie Walker an American living in the city at that time. He also fought through the war, usually against friendly military champions, I have photos from the 40's of him sparing on deck. He fought in America, Brazil, Austrailia to name but a few. I met many of his old friends as a kid and all would mention his boxing, i've never doubted what he done... Proud man, as many who lived through that were... Bu
  11. I've read an re-read that BG and I keep thinking it's one of the best endorsements of any cross i've ever read on here. I'll just say, as I have said to Ray via pm, that this cross interests me a lot, I'm very glad a bloke like Ray has got such a cross as i'm sure we'll get to hear about it, warts an all. Should make bloody interesting reading for all those into the pastoral breeds... I wish Ray (and Buck) all the very best for the future...
  12. Feck me Ray, he's gonna be a size.. Crackin, keep us posted..
  13. i run lurchers northernlite, bred off lurchers that knew there job an gave there all, bred for work an not a 2nd thought put into there looks or anything else, i doubt i even know what is in them, other than otherlurchers that were good eniough to breed off And in this day an age, dogs like that are getting rarer (boy do I know it...!). 15. I've seen a couple of hares like this around there Troter. At Formby your right next to Altcar estate and although pre-ban the estate had a massive hare population, for the Cup it always brought more in.
  16. Nice one REW nothing beats a bit of time solo now an again. Good score too.
  17. I was gonna say my old bitch in my avatar or maybe her sire Spike but in this day an age i'd probably go for my mates old lurcher Stripe, he is just about all I could want in a dog and still doing the business at about 12 years old, one hard, keen mutt, of pedigree unknown. Unfortunately he's a 'jaffa' or I would have had a pup out of him years ago and so thats why i'd clone him!
