I'm celebrating joint 75th birthdays with my mate and wives tonight. I will start with a couple of pints of guinness. Then a miracle happens. I well pee out ten pints of urine even though I've drunk only two. Only men of a certain age can perform this miracle. I guarantee at least 6 visits to the bathroom. I can also guarantee we will tell jokes and relate stories we have told many times before. But find them f****n hilarious. This too is miraculous. Old age does not come alone. You younger lads, don't be impatient. Your time to perform the miraculous will arrive soon enough.

Blackhawk Helicopter hits American Airlines flight.

It's strange how people focus on a spectacular accident like this, me included. But worldwide its estimated that 150,000 people die every day. Except for the families involved, in the scale of things this is nothing. Even if it's terror related. But we will speculate for ever on this incident. Thought for the day. I'm collecting my coat. -
It's absolutely mind blowing what has happened. I honestly didn't think people could be so predatory and evil. It's so shocking I've feel like I've been a naive kid all my life. I thought I'd seen it all, but this is another level. Sub human behaviour.

Wow, that 3 men's grub. Jumbo portion.

That's me bottom left. Serious young Shawaddy Waddy recruit for the Catholic church. I even had a crucifix badge. 60 years ago. Trust me I've changed. But still devastingly handsome.

The mystery man of THL. Always one step in front of the foreign agents who pursue him relentlessly from continent to continent. As restless as a rolling stone and as suave as Alan Whicker. We know this is not a true image of yourself Mr Mackem. You would not be careless. Good luck in your country hopping. I hope you always stay one step ahead of your pursuers.

I'm very worried at the 5 likes your photograph attracted. Mind you, you are a big strong squaddie.

So you're a passenger and a banger? Too hard on yourself mate.

Dead ringer for Matt Hancock. Our Covid bungler.

You have not factored in the deterrent effect of STIFFMEISTER. Amateur.

'Achilles' does not strike fear and respect into our enemies. It suggests an obvious vulnerability in the heel area. Let's hope they haven't built it with a pull_out bath plug in the hull.

What are the bigger defence issues mate?

Low self esteem. It's a curse.

People, voted for Labour in the last election hopingnfor an end to sleaze and austerity. Within weeks we learned Starmer and his wife were accepting undeclared freebies and Reeves reduced the old age pension. New boss same as the old boss.

I would love a GSD lurcher. One of the main advantages is that they retain the shape of the GSD, so nobody knows youve got a running dog. On the outside you've got GSD, nobody would give you a second look. But on the inside, if you've got a dog like Buck, you've got a brilliant lurcher which will take all game. It's a no brainer. There was a bloke on here known as Black Greyhound. He was a great believer in the GSD cross. He got himself in a lot of trouble with one his dogs. He was a good member, but he got pissed off with the aggro on here and left.

When the tories waged class war on yourself and Bakerboy, they left communities demolarised and local economies in ruins. Any civilised government would have provided money /training, built factories and invested in alternative skilled employment. They do that in other countries. You cannot just close down a whole industry and abandon them. But ask farmers to pay half the tax as other people and people start crying foul. I've a million per cent more empathy with the miners than farmers. I don't remember them supporting the miners or anybody else when the chips were down. Tha

Maybe it was planned. Lots of low cost labour is good for profits.

The evidence in terms of empty paper wrappers and a man with his gut flowing even more than usual over his thick leather belt was there for all to see. His nickname was Benny Gannet. Incidentally Mack,I had 9 salmon that night, one lad had twelve and the rest sixes and sevens. The book says theres no point in fishing for salmon at night.lol. Although it wasn't dark for long being summer. We pooled the lot and were seriously rich. Benny got his cut too. We should have deducted the fish and chip money but let him off.Lol Sorry if I'm digressing from the thread folks.

And the more low paid, low skilled there are competing for jobs, the more stagnant wages and therefore the economy becomes.

People can only eat "one lunch and one dinner". True story. About 40 years back there were seven of us fishing a river bank. Salmon and sea trout were being landed in phenomenal numbers. We decided to fish all night. One chap was dispatched in his ancient Morris Minor at 8 pm to bring us back 7 fish and chip suppers. He didn't arrive back until 7am. His van had broken down and rather than waste the the fish suppers, he ate the lot! He was a pig farmer and could scoff as well as his stock.

Actually Jim fixed it for me to milk a cow in the dark.

Corfu mate. I read that and went to Corfu on the strength of that book. Been back many times. There's areas in Corfu which have not changed since his day. But not many.
