I was just listening to the radio and somebody asked how did Mathew Mark, Luke and John manage to have western names when they were born and lived in the middle East? Answers on a postcard.

Scotland's greatest ever player? Ballon d'or winner. Goal average better than a goal every two games. Joint record scorer for Scotland. Loved to wind up the English. Very modest and humorous man. I saw him play a few times. He could ghost past players, score goals from nothing and was brilliant with his head. It's said he put United down into the second division with his famous back heel. But United were losing anyway so it wasnt a decisive goal. He did not celebrate the goal and asked to be subbed immediately. Despite the transfer to ManCity the Stretford End still loved him like th

He's a real trailblazer. Breath of fresh air. The first to train a mink. Great idea. He's trained many since. Take my hat off to him. I've seen him stitching rat bites himself, thinks nothing of it. I would be in bed for weeks lol. Very impressive young fella.

You've not been on here long mate. It means a fight to the death with someone you disagree with. When postcodes are exchanged you've got to make for the hills. Cos troubles a coming.

But you can eat low carbon without a keto diet.

That's postcode exchanging talk.!

And sugar is kind of addictive and makes you hungry. I often see overweight kids swigging on jumbo sized bottles of fizz on their way to school. Fat kids can't do anything, run, jump climb trees etc, so the weight piles on year after year. Before you know it they in mobility scooters.

Junk food manufacturers prey on children from the get go. My grandkids had learned McDonalds were 'cool' at 2 years old. Sweets are at eye level in the supermarket. Shit food is wrapped in colourful wrapping. Burger vans are parked outside schools. Eating has become a major hobby. Check out the number of fast food outlets in any high street. The poorer the area the more junk food shops. Look at people on film from 50 years back. They look stick thin. People now waddle along like the Michelin man. Eat real food and don't pile calories on with alcohol is the solution. I have alwa

Day release? The authorities must be mad. You are far too dangerous to be considered suitable for day release. Reported!

I've seen abuse, psychological, physical and sexual in a corrective Catholic school I was sent to and experienced the first two. Thank God not the latter. It's not something I want to joke about mate.

I was as well. I was an altar boy until I was 14. Believed it hook line and sinker. Then revelations and reality set in. I'm very anti catholic Church now. But not catholics in general. I baptised my kids myself.

Francie are you Roman Catholic? Which religion do you follow Francie?

It's weird that people find peace in the natural world and yet flock to cities. The opposite of peace is found in cities. Hate them. Make me feel ill.

Pantheism along with personal morality is my religion.

My mother used to say, when I get up there I'm going to tell that God a thing or two. He's got some explaining to do, like why he has allowed such cruelty and misery in the world. She reckoned he could stick his heaven unless he/ she/ it gave her some satisfactory answers. I go along with that.

Interesting stuff. I think the North East remains fertile soil for football lovers and young football, players. In other places that breeding ground has died out. I'm thinking Scotland. Every English old first division club had a number of Scots who often came from pit areas. There are very few Scots playing at top level now. I never see kids playing football now. Having said that , one of my brother's grandsons plays for his local under 14 team at 9 years old. He's sharp too, I asked him if Man U had tried to sign him yet and he said he wasn't interested. He's only interested in Real Ma

It's just been announced Denis Law has died at 84. A goal machine. . I might go to the funeral if any of my mates are going. Denis is the last of the trio comprising George Best and Bobby Charlton to die. His goal ratio per game was unbelievable.

Pretty sure Howe is the only English manager in the Premier league. I think they will win something soon. If they do Howe will be elevated above Shearer into Geordie sainthood. I was talking to a geordie recently when on holiday. . He and his wife were football encyclopaedias. They used to flit between Sunderland and Newcastle matches but the bitterness became so bad they only attend Newcastle and Darlington now. The bloke could remember a Man Utd player from the fifties the original 'Pancho' Pearson.(We have had another since.) Pancho was a psycho, violent player. As kids we u

Is there a religion that doesn't want your money?

Haaland's 9.5 year contract at half a million per week= 247 million. Plus sponsorship deals, win bonuses etc. Not bad.

There was an auction in Carlisle every Saturday morning at Dalton's mart. The livestock section used to draw eccentrics, me included. Bantams, ducks canaries, budgies, ferrets, rabbits guinea pigs were always on sale. The bidders and observers were an odd mix of Greengrasses, gypsies, tyre kickers and lurcher and terrier men. It was a good place to chat with fellow lurcher men and great for socialising pups. My lads said it was one of their favourite childhood memories. One of them had a vicious dog ferret which he put into auction. The auctioneer had an assistant who would always h

Agree about Rashford. He's beome "a big time Charlie". Fergie would have got rid as soon as his attitude dropped. Agree about Mainoo. But he's not thriving under Amorim and has been pulled a few times. Time for him to adapt to the new manager. Can't Agree about Fernandes. We would be knackered without him. Not proper captain material, but a class player.
