Sorry for being thick, but how does the 'gypsy slip' work?
-
I've heard a few 'cursing' greyhounds too mate. Usually when they've backed losers all night.

You are right Bird, there's not many of those 70s heavyweights who don't speak with a slurring voice. They've all suffered some form of brain injury. Victims of their own bravery a lot of them . Particularly Ali-a crying shame. However, he says even if boxing did cause his Parkinsons's (let's face it, it did) he would do it all again and I believe him.

Rooks Interested In Nests In Winter.
jukel123 replied to jukel123's topic in Wildlife and General Photography
This unseasonable weather is weird. Just had a nosy round my wildlife garden with a lamp. There's still newts and frogs moving about and I live in Scotland. Read the other day that in Cornwall the frogs have already spawned. Crazy. -
My favourite of all time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QY1jzjTjIhY

This is my favourite. Thompson, a cruiserweight who, incidentally stopped David Haye, had been battered, outclassed and humiliated for 9 rounds. The ref was going to stop the fight, Thompson's corner were thinking about pulling him out. Then Carl 'the cat' Thompson comes up with this. He had balls of steel this guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW1geLyh1Ck

I was watching rooks inspecting their nests in a nearby rookery this morning. Through my glasses I could clearly see them rearranging twigs and cawing. I've noticed them do this before. It seems as though they are inspecting/claiming nests all through the winter. Does anybody know exactly what they are doing? Anybody know of any books or studies written about rooks?

Neil Becon Beddy X Greyhound??????
jukel123 replied to russell.f87's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Great offer mate. However there's a possible fly in the ointment. One pup died of parvo, the other died of a severe worm infestation. Vets are by no means infallible. What if they both died of parvo, but only one pup was correctly diagnosed? It would be better, for safety's sake to get the pup vaccinated against parvo before it goes. -

How can one pup die from 'worms' and another presumably from the same litter die of parvo????? -

Check out Russel f.87's recent status update. He's just lost a pup from the same breeder plus all the dogs in his kennel from the infection the pup brought in. The breeder should, at the very least, be offering a full and immediate refund! -
Forgot to mention to be fair to her she was a very good shit hunter. She loved shit of all flavours: rabbit, hare, sheep and horse. But her especial favourite was human shit-she could find any human shit within half a mile. She appreciated both rolling in it and eating it. She was very difficult to love.

She was eight weeks .I should have recognised she was going to be a bit weird in the first few days, but I thought with good socialisation she would come round. Wrong.
-
Sesku, I am both ashamed and proud to say I kept her for 14 feckin years. My wife and kids thought the world of her and I couldn't upset them by putting her down.

I didn't realise that a collie/grey can come with a lot of baggage: heading for home at the sound of an exhaust, a firework, thunder or gunshot. Constantly wheeling, circling totally hyperactive despite plenty of exercise, mental stimulation and work. Mine was extremely neurotic:-hated other dogs and attacked them through fear, fearful of any change in her routine, for example she would foul her run if my Mrs fed her instead of me, every time. I had to sedate her at firework time and even when I went on holiday otherwise she would pine, refuse to eat and foul her run. She also ran hot and cold

I had a border half cross from him. It was so bad it was funny. Drove me nuts. I was wondering whether he was introducing beardie /border types to cancel out the obsessive, repetitive traits that some borders have. Mine was like a full border collie in temperament. I hated the fecker.lol It gave me high blood pressure and probably an ulcer.
-
Most of the pups that hancock produces now seem to be a mix of beardie/border blood. Why after all these years has he chosen to go down this route? I know he had beardie/border stud dogs donkeys years ago, but they were in a minority. Most of his stud dogs were border types. Any answers? Theories?

Fantastic. Would love a holiday out there.

Tufty, what has Klitchkov said about Joshua?
-
Just checked the odds. Talk about a hot prospect. Joshua is 4 to 1 on to win a belt by Jan1st 2020.
-
Sorry, forgot about the impressive Mr Harrison, boxing's answer to pacifism lol.. Be interesting to see how Joshua's chin chin holds out when he's caught.
-
Don't suppose anyone knows the odds on Joshua winning a world title belt at some point? If they are half decent I would put a few quid on it. I think he's be far the best UK prospect since Lewis.

A load of grown men ( and a few twining bitches) whining about 'depression'. Get a grip, man up (and woman up) ffs. Thank your lucky stars you weren't born in the third world. Get off your arses and sort yourselves out you pathetic specimens of failed humanity. Only joking------------------------ it's a tough business surviving these days. When the mind gets sick it's supposed to be something to be ashamed of or something to be covered up. The truth is the mind is the most vulnerable part of your body. When it gets ill everything else fails to work properly. I think life is tougher and more

Do a search. There's some good advice on training for lamp work.

The answer to the difference in height among your litter siblings jcm is in the whippet ancestry. Once you have whippet in the bloodline a proportion of smallish pups is inevitable.
