Have you tried in the last 10 yrs or so to get a shotgun cert or fac Mac? I never thought I would get one and I've got a history worth forgetting and a custodial sentence under my belt.........now I have both shotgun and fac, prove you have good reason and you have kept your nose clean long enough you never know. Just to add you do not need to provide a good reason or have nominated land for shotgun.

6 rds from an HMR to finish a fox? What range was he shooting at? I've seen a .22 rimfire drop them on the spot with a centre mass shot, albeit from the right range. Anybody hitting a fox 6 times with a Hmr to finish it off should not be allowed to shoot. I've owned an Hmr in the past and taken fox easily @ 100yds with chest shots and dropped them on the spot, if it ever took 6 rds I would have wrapped the rifle around the nearest tree. ATB ......Del
