Various methods of net protection were tried at Filey, most worked for a short period of time. But seals are very intelligent and it does not take them long to realise humane deterrents are not harmful to them, then your back to square one. One of the biggest problems on the Yorkshire coast is the sea life centre in Scarborough, hand rearing injured seals then releasing them back to the wild. I shot seals for a few years in Filey for the fishermen, The minimum calibre I was informed was a .243, I opted for a .308 with iron sights, had some real good days out. But be warned shooting seals brings you unwanted attention from the animal rights idiots. Legal activities or not these clowns burnt 2 salmon boats, shortly after that I was informed by the fishermen my services were no longer required. Good luck. I often think about how clever we are as a species to be able to do these things, then I think that once upon a time we realised there was a massive pile of rubbish building up and decided itd be a good idea to cover it in soil and seed it and we have pretty much been doing that ever since. No doubt about it, we are a real clever species, spend millions / billions on sending men into space, probes to Mars and not forgetting the millions on weapons capable of destroying the planet, shame we cannot concentrate on putting this planet right before we go and colonise another one to ruin.

Biggest mistake I made was selling my hornet good all round rifle. Cannot really see what .17 can offer what the hornet does not already. Boys with toys eh! well hopefully I will soon have found my ideal 3 rifle set up without swapping and chopping again, got a .22 rimfire a 6.5x55 just need the .222 and hopefully I won't be buying anymore ………….fat chance

Easy solution to that one, pull out of the EU. Let Scotland have her independence and take our place in the EU, and as a token of our esteem Scotland can have our share of migrants and refugees. Wonder what the fat cats in Brussels would make of that offer dropped on their table? He could well have been approached from behind and turn to see his assailants before he was struck could he not? I think even the Durham constabulary might have thought of this already. I bought one for my wife 3 yrs ago on a 55 plate limited edition……..never missed a beat…she loves it, not the best on fuel. Ideal for l;ight 4x4 work and good little bus for running around in, I would buy another after owning this one.

One of the reasons the lurcher game is shagged is because of the fools who buy lurchers off strangers and random breeders and then complain the dogs shite and then ends up on the merry go round. I know if i wanted another running dog I could phone half a dozen folk I've met through this site and be put in contact with a good prospect. Why the fcuk anybody would even bother checking out pre loved or random adverts from somebody you don't know is beyond me, buy from places like that you deserve all you get.
