Round here they all work for agencies going from shit job to shit job, the ones that come to our place are made up as it's miles better than the usual work they do but unfortunately for them it's only a few months we need them.

Hobs will hump them wether they're in season or not, they'd probably still do it if they were dead. Only way to stop a hob shagging stuff this time of year is to put him on his own.
How long have you had it? If it's not been there long you'll need to let it settle, put it by the window in a quiet room or with the radio on and see if it starts. Hanging them outside gets them going too but only really when they're settled.
