Its basically the same as that but I used an old water butt, if I want to drain the shite out of the filter I can open the tap. I could drain most of the pond out through it too as its a little fountain type pump at the bottom of the ibc running it all into the filter. It's not pretty but it does the job.

Mine are happy in this ibc tank, the home made filter does the job but a proper one with a uv would probably be better.

If I were you mate I'd go for a nice finch noted mule, easier to keep and less likely to fluff up and die on you. A decent canary mixture and the odd bit of greens like broccoli, dandelions or peas and it'll be fine. I'd say anything from 40 quid upwards. -
Can't vouch for this stuff but I used their black fluid in the past and it was ok.

I left a bit of the top on mine and cut out inside it so it holds the top edge rigid. Home made filter keeps it pretty clear too.
