  1. Its only 2ft get it trenched but make sure you keep an eye out for it or you might end up burying it.
  2. If he gets a beddy whippet and it won't work cover he's back to square one but with 3 mouths to feed instead of two though. Personally if I just wanted a bushing dog that probably won't go to ground and isn't likely to fight with your lurcher over the quarry then your better off with a spaniel blooded dog. I can't see the attraction in beddies either with them coats on them you'd spend more time grooming it than working it.
  3. Here's a list of places that have at least 18 in stock in your area at a very reasonable price http://www.golfindevon.co.uk/
  4. It probably depends what type lab was used, a lot of people I know with working labs have tall and lean dogs who are still able to go out picking up at over 12 years of age which would be a better prospect than one of the dumpy little ones that can't walk by the age of 8.
  5. Give Diggermad a shout he's like the Derek Trotter of the ferrets and locators world
  6. Mike I don't think your use of the english language will be fully appreciated on here, there will be people checking for their dog knocking one off to see if he's ok to eat bones
  7. Where abouts in the north west? Pm me if you prefer, I can probably shift them as we're getting hounded for rabbits but can't catch our own the way the cover is in our usual spots. Pellet free preferably as the hawking lads pay top dollar as everyone knows none of them can catch their own
  8. The bit where he walks to the ring reminds me of Wallace in The Wrong Trousers
  9. I know mate, I think its about 12 kilo in a box so its still quite cheap for the weight. I get lamb necks and rib cages free too and mince lamb, tripe etc is I think £11 for a 30lb box from a different place.
  10. Sounds about right for the size, as long as she looks in good nick then your feeding her right. I'd try and vary the meat though and try and get some bones and tripe into her couple of times a week.
  11. How much does that lot cost you gnipper ? Its gone up now to £3 a box, think I put too many people on to them and they cottoned on they could cash in on it. A few years ago when I first started buying them from there it was a quid a box and that was just to cover the labour and packaging. I was getting them from other places before but sometimes you'd end up with bags of skin, green backs and even the string they tie chickens up with so i'd rather pay the extra for good fresh carcases.
  12. These chicks are still doing well, i've got another one back off my mate who hatched some under a broody too so I can see roughly what they might turn out like.
  13. Its a Platipus underground guying kit your on about I think mate. This big acer had one on it that we'd had to do for a demonstration and then some tw@ ordered the tree and it was a nightmare to dig. I dig root balled trees (not conifers admittedly) for a living and if it was mine i'd give it a go but not until the winter, how thick is the trunk on it? When we buy in root balled conifers from abroad they have tiny root balls on them. There is a chance it will die but if its that or cutting it down its worth the risk. I had to do it with a big monkey puzzle this spring and its still aliveand t

  15. Mate of mines been working his way through them too. Personally I couldn't do online dating or a pro, its not right imo. Whats wrong with doing it the old fashioned way, getting bladdered in town and picking whichever your beer goggles agree with?
  16. That lot was processed and boxed up while we waited, ten minutes if that so they were as fresh as can be
  17. Dress respectably and take the little lad along with you when your knocking, my little girl is going to be the key to many a farm gate in a year or two
  18. As has been said the bones are soft and when the dog chews them they will be fine to swallow. Personally i'd never smash one up as your just creating un natural fragments of bone which is increasing the risk imo. I've read loads of people saying they smash chicken wings up and feck knows why, even a pug could probably swallow a whole chicken wing and not choke. Dangerous bones to feed are load bearing bones on bigger stock like sheep and cows as they can splinter. I've just been and got about 60 kilo of big meaty chicken carcases for me and my mate and all our dogs get them chucked in whole,
  19. I'd never have another whippet, lurcher with whippet in it then fair enough but not a pure whippet.
  20. Spoke to a mate of mine before for you and apparently the main man for them is in carlisle.
  21. Do a google search for youtube ripper and I think its the first one that comes up, thats what i've used recently and its worked. Why can't I paste a link on here anymore?????????????????????
  22. I use an 18ah normal battery in a good quality rucksack and while i'm out I barely notice it there its when I take it off and grow an inch or two I see the benefit of the lithium ones. Gonna have to get myself one for the start of the season.
  23. Its not the only thing you'll break with them bunkers, known a few dogs come unstuck hitting the other side of one.
  24. The vets by me said about £20 a leg and the anaesthetic for my lurcher would be about £50. I was going to get them took off while he was under getting his tail off but changed my mind with the lay off he'd have while they healed as it was around this time of year.
