    We used to have firework fights on the local rec using rockets as missiles and do stupid shit like crazy rockets where you snap the stick off and chuck them and hope they didn't come back at you. I'm surprised nobody got hurt thinking about it now.

    Oaks grow better in ground that's already had oaks in, they produce mycelium or summat in the root system which benefits the next tree. A lot of trees are the opposite and benefit from fresh ground.

    One of our fields is a solid clay and some of the oaks planted on there don't like it but others grow fine. All the ones on our black soil grow like mad.

    Normal oaks I mean not quercus ilex.

    We grow thousands of the b*****ds at work and I wouldn't say they were slow growing. I pruned a few ready for being transplanted a week or two ago and they had about 6ft of this years growth on them.

    That's just common sense mate, but unfortunately it ain't all that common these days, surely people would realise if they had a brain there's a reason why the population has died down, and until that's sorted there never will be any rabbits in huge numbers The airgun lads are the worst for it.

    Mines protective of me but even more so of the missus and kids, he won't let people he's known all his life touch him if I'm not there either. It's a good thing imo and I know no feckers sneaking up on me in the dark

    I'm always glad to hear it gets easier because it's certainly not easy now. The kids are warm/fed and want for nowt though and that's all that matters to me.

    I got the ratting permission on a derelict egg farm with a brook running through it a few years back and the guy who lives on site told me the night they turned the electric off on one side ready for demolition the rats all moved in one go and you couldn't see the bridge for them. Ive heard another tale of something similar around the docks at Liverpool, a big squealing plague of rats going down the road.

    I was looking at using them to fasten the clip on with so I'm glad I've gone with that steel split ring. Me and donk at work have tested it's strength and a dog will never shift it.

    Them rabbit vaccines aren't meant to work so I've been told, shame really though as I'd give it a go if the vaccine was available without a vet involved.
