    When the judge said how much do you want for travelling expenses I said well I put £60 worth of diesel in this morning and I should be able to get back on that . He said we pay 45 pence per mile you traveled 200 miles here so that’s a 400 mile round trip so that’s £180 . I looked at the owner as his head went down and thought “ I wouldn’t mind doing this every week”!!!???

    This year at Easter my wife and I rented a large holiday home so that all the kids and grandkids could spend a week together. There were 9 adults 5 kids and 2 dogs . Online the place looked fantastic, snooker room , bar , large dining room , different living rooms , on suite bedrooms. On arrival however the owner told us that the soil pipe was blocked and only one bathroom was in use . And being Easter the earliest it could be fixed was Tuesday after the bank holiday. He said “there you have it , are you staying or not?” We said that seeing as we have all traveled from all over the country and

    I’ve never been to a gym or gone running . I probably eat the wrong things , for example I like a full English breakfast, roast dinners and fatty lamb chops . I’m probably a ticking time bomb . However my job and digging keep me active . I notice when I’m walking up hills with the beaters on shoot days how fit I am in comparison to some of the beaters who are a lot younger than me and should be flying up these hills . I don’t smoke and rarely drink , so maybe there is hope for me . But I promise you that I will never wear Lycra , I’d sooner be in an early grave than be a “MAMIL” ( middle aged

    It should have been explained to you if work and feed duties were compulsory or not . If during that explanation you told them that you wouldn’t be able to do much and they still took your money they owe you it back .Even If you said you could do some work but didn’t, they should here your excuses and here you out . Maybe the rest of the syndicate and the shoot Captain think you aren’t the kind of guy they want to shoot with and they don’t like you . Whatever the reason, if you don’t get to shoot and you have paid your subs you should be refunded .

    It’s a problem that is experienced by shoots that neighbor each other. It’s more than a bit cheeky on his part and is to my mind an indication of desperation. If the birds don’t know where home is now they never will . I would have a word with him first . I’ve had it with farmers who put feeders out to pull my birds and don’t put any down , they are millionaires and try to get a bit of cheap shooting, that really boils my piss . They soon found it was expensive replacing their feeders and would probably be cheaper to buy a day . Keep an eye on it and don’t go in guns blazing, I always find it’

    Being in Gloucestershire and not a million miles from the Royals, I know people who know them . I also know a chap who served with Harry in wherever it was and by all accounts Harry and William for that matter are good lads . Harry in particular I think is a down to earth guy . I think he’s batting way over his average with Megan though . I personally don’t give a monkeys about the colour of her skin , someone should be judged by their character alone . And Harry who has character himself thinks she will make a good wife and mother I respect his judgment, it also helps that she is a stunner !!

    The problem is that these governments with their wishy washy leftie policies that constantly fail to tackle problems of immigration and handouts to foreign asylum seekers/ economic migrants.They simply fail to see what’s happening to the common man . And in their blindness they will leave the door wide open to the hard right . Look no further than the Italian and French elections to see how close it’s getting.

    I know on old retired chap who makes stocks for a hobby . He has made some fine sticks with animal and bird heads which he carves himself. I have been asking for a fox head stick for ages and it was always, “Ive never done one”, I don’t think I could” . Anyway he turned up yesterday at this shoot where we go Loading with this stick , not bad for a first attempt at a fox . I am over the moon with it .

    Nice to see you are back amongst the living . Big old brute , been having a few myself, just looked in my diary and since October 1st I’ve shot 10 and 8 were big dog foxes in superb condition with nice coats . What a waste you can’t earn a few bob from the skins now .

    Driving home the other night and saw a hedgehog walking in front of the car stopped and watched it as it made its way across the road , me and the wife both said “aww ain’t that nice “ at that moment a golf GTI came zooming up , didn’t even slow and splatt, no more Mrs Tiggywinkle . Got to say me and the wife were both upset and annoyed. I know I shoot stuff , but you can still feel sympathy.

    Had a look at one yesterday in the gun shop .They had just come in . Very short compared to my CZ , black plastic stock , looks like a really good tool . Still prefer the Weirauch . But it’s too nice , I’d be afraid to damage the wood . The Tikka has the edge for me now , at a little over £500 I can see them being the best selling rimfire before long . If you are in the market for a new rimfire , check out a Tikka 22lr and 17hmr .

    You need to start upping your vitamin C intake. An Orange a day works for me . Also sleep with the window open . Also stay away from kids (your own grandchildren or children) nasty disease carrying things , or if you must interact with them , mask and glove up . ?

    I have just ordered one . I’ve never heard of them , saw the post and looked online . They have everything you need for reloading. Might be time to break out the Kleenex when it arrives!!!!????

    You think they hurt !!! Try a Raven , when I had a ladder trap going I caught a few , I let them go ( they are protected) I grabbed this one and he bit my hand , drew blood !!! I now wear gloves like a big girl , you are right , amazing how much power they have in their beaks .

    After reading the post I thought no way !!! So I conducted a bit of an experiment. I practiced on a few targets and got my eye in . After some favourable results I decided to try for a couple of foxes. I set up my icotec 350 with the pheasant distress and it wasn’t long before Charlie showed up . A simple overarm sent him to the afterlife . I thought this is too easy so I picked up a HV acorn. I drove around for a bit and saw Charlie in the distance , a couple of squeaks stopped him in his tracks , this time an underarm curler dropped him at 100 meters .
