  1. I’ve just been on guntrader and Livens have the t1x for sale fitted with grs stock as a package deal.
  2. I’d be surprised if they don’t work and shoot very well. I saw a royal some time ago in the countryman, personally I didn’t like it, but strangely I do like the mtr model, especially the 16 inch version. It’s an oddball I suppose, but there’s just something about the mtr that I like the look of. A bit of a heavyweight though. Each to their own, if you like it, go for it I say?.
  3. Just saw the twat in a stupid hat and thought of bill and ben the flowerpot men. ?
  4. Just switched on to bbc2 and what did I see........?
  5. The rabbit magnums are crap in my .22 contour at 11 ft lbs.
  6. Good on you Stavross?, in years to come these lads will fondly remember you for what you taught them when they were young. And of course your kind words........?
  7. Both Dunblane and Peterlee shootings could have been avoided. If police had followed protocol properly at the time, neither Thomas Hamilton or Michael Atherton would have been allowed to hold a license. The police balls it up so the politicians put more restrictions on responsible shooters.
  8. All this sh1t makes me feel like banging my head against a wall with this fcuking country. What a load of bollocks!
  9. I’m going to try and pick some of those hornady’s up myself. The lasers changed from nickel to brass a while back didn’t they?,not sure why, but if they still perform well that’s what matters?. Manufacturers have a good .22 product that sells well due to gaining a good reputation among shooters, then they either stop making them or change them, often for the worse?. Eley 40 grain subsonic hollow xtra plus comes to mind.
  10. Yerr, I’d don’t think the winnies are as good as the used to be. Xpediters and lasers used to be ok but I don’t know what the lasers are like now. The last Winchester subs I had weren’t very consistent though. I haven’t bought any Winchester.22’s for a few years, but looking at your experience SD, seems I made the right choice?
  11. Interesting, especially regarding pellet accuracy past 60 yards. I still have a crown on my list, it’s just that I haven’t got around to getting a variation in as I’ve been busy with other things lately. Might wait until renewal.
  12. What is the twist rate in these slug barrels vm?
  13. Once they’ve bounced off the ground or rock/flint etc, they’ve lost most of their energy. I’ve seen subs skid up off short wet grass at 50 yards and hit 18mm ply a further 50 yards away and they’ve slammed sideways into the ply but only embedded in the wood at around a foot above the ground. I don’t believe that those tumbling bullets would have traveled much further before dropping back to the ground again. As you say Phil, so long as you know and are aware of the backdrop and it’s safe?. Obviously they’ll always carry more clout than airgun pellets, and carry further after a ricochet though.
  14. Agreed Phil, .22 is more versatile than .17hmr, which is by comparison, something of a one trick pony.
  15. Fantastic SD? Edit to ask, subs or hv’s?
  16. Yeah, they look nice, really nice ?,and probably are really good. I’d be very very tempted if I was seriously looking for another rimfire at the moment. If it’s a long term investment and what you want, if you can afford it, buy it and make me really envious vm ?
  17. I’ve got to agree about the new cz 457. I didn’t like them at all. In fact, I prefer my 452 to the 455 and 457. To me the 455 looks like a costcut version of the 452 and that new 457, well ?. CZ are going in the wrong direction for me. Just my opinion of course.
  18. True, the two stage trigger is available as an upgrade for these rifles and it’s an excellent trigger. In fact, I don’t think anschutz make a poor trigger. The 1417 is only available with the two stage trigger, or at least it was? A friend of mine upgraded his 1517 to two stage and it cost him about £200 if I remember right?
  19. They’re made by Hatsan for Webley. Hatsan springers are generally basic, but ok for the money. As said though, for a little more outlay, an hw99s is in a different league altogether.
  20. Top marks walt, best thing for them damned things. Parcel them up and send ‘em to Packham ?
