  1. Yep, spot on them little tikka’s. What ammo are you using Mitch?
  2. Bleddy hate that love of dogs programme ? and that book, I’d bin that an’orl.....?
  3. That’s brilliant Stavross. Would look lovely on the front door for the festive season?
  4. No wonder he’s packing it in. Shame though?
  5. Enjoy your new boiler Phil. As for who wants a pard 008, after trying my pals out on his t bolt...........I DO?
  6. Looking at the photo, does the case neck have a small fracture/split also?
  7. In reply to that, I’ve head shot rabbits out to 180 yards lasered with .22 subs. Purely for pest control, they could be taken with body shots further out than that. Can fac air achieve this? I doubt that they would carry the energy, but then I haven’t had the opportunity to try these slugs. The thing is though, at 22 grains that’s half the weight and less than half the muzzle energy of a .22 sub, I can’t see how they would perform favourably. As for shooting into trees, there’s cb longs etc at 29 grains and 35 ish ft lbs easily available. I keep an open mind and I know how useful fac air is, b
  8. Yerr, you should invite Chris Packham along, show him what he’s missing ?
  9. Some on eBay Phil, but solid. Item 323915523059
  10. What are you trying to say about Santa? ?
  11. Riding around on the quad? Has somebody topped the tank up for you stavross ?. Good shooting, and your squirrel arranging skills are getting better with every picture ?
  12. True enough about opinions vm. Although how these slugs can outperform a .22 bullet I don’t know? Shot from a 40ft lb air rifle they’re never going to match the energy at any range, a .22 subsonic bullet will retain 70-80ft lbs at 100 yards. The comments from your gun shop puzzle me in that respect, not quite sure what he means by that statement. However, I am intrigued and will look forward to finding out for myself. Just need the crown now...........and some slugs?
  13. When they’re available I’ll buy some anyway, just to try them out, but I can get VERY accurate.22 rimfire ammunition for under £10/100 that may be cheaper than the FX hybrid slugs? What I need now though is an fac crown, some slugs and some time to play. It would be interesting to compare fac air using slugs and .22 rf side by side.
  14. Any British prices for these slugs available? Just found pyramidair price $14:99 /100 slugs. As these type of things usually turn out to be cheaper in the US, they’ll probably work out more expensive than decent rimfire ammo for us. I’d be interested in trying them, but they could be priced out realistically?
  15. I once cooked a starling on my dads’ garden fire. I used a garden fork to break it open and it looked and smelled like roast chicken ?. I would’ve had to be a lot hungrier than I was to eat it though?
  16. These are old now, 30 grains. I have two tins of them (300 in a tin) labelled Eley Wasp Magnum. They were originally bought to use in a Theoben Eliminator, but the Eliminator didn’t like them. I achieved reasonable groups with them with my little contour, but I only tried them at 15 yards and muzzle energy was down compared to bisley magnums etc. They performed much better than h&n rabbit magnums though. The contour sprayed the rabbit magnums all over the place. Some .25 slugs for sale on eBay as well, might be worth a try for anyone with an fac .25?
  17. Cheers Mark, here it is again...............just for you?
  18. Good shooting Robo. What ft lbs is the 56 running at fella?
  19. I recently brought this old ‘un back into service by fitting a steel dovetail ramp that I bought off fleabay.
  20. Same here Phil, I use .22 at least ten times more than.17 it’s so versatile. If I need more I usually reach for the hornet. But then, if I’m on mouse patrol.............?
