  1. Have a word with a bone man they probably have 1st hand knowledge of this type of thing .
  2. I personally wouldn't entertain having a pup off a pedlar like that. I'd sooner give a lad a few quid for an honest pup out of workers....regardless of the cross you want . But this lad wants to know where to get a deerhound cross can anyone help him ?
  3. I've got a deben one and one off d Lloyd both the same lamps . I love mine and have lamped everything with it ,wouldn't be without it.
  4. theres loads of the real thing available in sutton coldfield
  5. i suppose its how the genes throw , if go to the saluki side be no prob, but if to bull and grey wont be as good, ive had 3 straight bullxgreys before they were ok ,but i always thought they lacked wind if you wanted long hard night with lot of runs, yeh on paper this x sounds spot on Too many variables to compare .also what people want will be different .I would want mine to throw more to a bull cross than a Saluki cross or I wouldn't use any bull at all. Adding bull Saluki and greyhound together don't always get the same results I'd like a dog to throw more to the bull than salu

  7. Ask him for one of his handguns, he reckons the heavy ones are good and the heavy ones are reliable, if it does not work you can always hit him with it

  9. b*****d ....i offered him a pup for nowt as well...should have held out a bit longer
  10. For the game you'd expect to use one for I don't see the benefit over a 1/2 cross or a pure bull. Know a lad who had a 5/8 bull good on harder quarry, but that was about it. Maybe the odd mugged rabbit
  11. Very good post......My question would be ,why buy one, raise it like a lurcher ,train it like a lurcher then run it like a lurcher? Why not then just buy a lurcher? They are awesome animals in their field and have contributed a hell of a lot to working dogs and will for years to come, but if it's an ambition go for it and keep us all posted
  12. I suppose the fact there's no money in them will keep some away, thankfully
  13. I can't honestly decide what's right,I've given pups away and paid fair money. But a good lurcher is well worth the money paid by some for 'desiger dogs" putting a big price away won't keep know heads away , as plenty have money. But at the same time I'd hate the idea of them being disposable because they are worth pennies
  14. I'll listen out for you Boris ,but a pup or a sapling would be my choice in that order. Anyone have any plans to breed soon ? Give this lad a shout
  15. what a cracking place for them to start out, nothing should faze them when older
  16. Depends on their size ,bigger dogs tend to grow longer ,bitch tend to be finish quicker than dogs. Think mine was done by 15 month ,although the last 3 of them he only made an 1/2 inch or so
  17. There's enough bred from none workers that get sold to working homes ,and do alright apparently, so maybe with enough work it has just as much chance?
