    NS dealt with this subject in his book - depends on what you want numbers or quality. I understand some people want numbers and the dog is merely part of the process, while to a digging man the dog and it's performance is everything

    Graham i was told about a litter of patt/bull x patt/wheaten (basically haf patt, quarter wheaten, quarter bull) i don't think any of them made three years of age due to wear and tear. it was on your side of the water too.. also met a lad that had white terriers that were losing size. he bought in a working wheaten bred bitch with a plan to put his best russell on her then do father/daughter on a bitch out of the breeding. basically he had the wheaten 6 months and it drove him mad around the kennel and was in his words 'liability' and he passed her on without lining her.

    I know,he turned me down on a pup,he reckons your will be better,LOL It's a cracking pup and the bitch is a stunner,fairplay to ye,it will be in good hands ,we will make sure it gets plenty of work i'm just pleased that without fail they seem to have gone to good lads who'll work them - can't ask for more than that

    nice pic but i prefer dogs not to even acknowledge they're there - like they don't exist. v difficult to get one 100% - i'm sure we have all experienced it at some point.

    Not if its a coyote, unless we cant get it out, we give foxes best, theres just not enough of them around to warrant killing them for no reason, the coyotes tend to either kill or run the foxes out good territory, so its nice to hunt them, if hounds catch one, well then thats just the way it is but i wouldnt bolt or dig one out just for my own self gratification, the coyotes are a different kettle of fish, i will catch and kill them by any legal means, they are a dangerous preditors that will take small dogs to medium sized dogs as well as sheep young catttle etc i suppose you'd need a

    i've come to the conclusion that the only really waterproof stuff is not suitable for climbing over fences and pushing through cover. they're also not ideal for walking very far or digging. i just wear gaiters and a long jacket and accept the bit in the middle will get damp - fed up with wasting money on gear and within a month its leaking

    In fairness I find myself going back to the Darcy books and re-reading chapters again, the one in Running Dog Addiction with the fella hunting the moors daytime I must have read twenty times.

    maybe don't worry too much about the cross and get a pup from parents that hunt the hill - there were some beddy/grey bull/grey with drop of hound in them for sale a while back

    Nice 1,if she had 4 it would be perfect,1 for my self and the other 3 to mates i plan on gifting pups to,but what ever she has i just hope they are healthy and she gets through it ok,she is not too keen on the fireworks and with holloween coming up i hope they don't cause her too much stress. how are your own pups and bitch doing good thanks mate, i'll pm you some pics, three of the dogs are real bruisers keep those big dog pups secret there be 1 comeing to stay in fife with there big cousin sully lol don't panic mate, there's one put aside for you, i'll start him on
