  10. They have a rather mild taste ,i would'nt say to unlike rabbit but distinct in an of itself , i really do enjoy them an have been eating squizzer since a small child .
  11. so i went out for a mooch ta other day an my son an i found a buncha bolete mushrooms from all the rain we 've been having an all ,also shot my first squizzer with a catty gonna fry him up tomorrow night along with a few others .
  12. Mostly useing 2050 doubles on natural forks an either river pebbles er marbles for shots ,will use .440 or .445 lead ball to hunt our forrest grouse though ,and like pheasent's need a head er neck shot to anchor em imo .

I allas cut em a bit over sized an coat the cut ends with wood glue both with and with out the bark on then i set em aside in a box for the year or even longer ,as i keep a good supply of forks on hand all the time so i always have one er two i can work on,also have cut forks offa dead trees an air dried for a week er two an they work fine also ,but i live in a mountainous -high desert type country so we have very low humigity which helps speed things up imo.
  14. Even willow's work if you cut a reasonably thick fork to start with ,even use aspen occasionally works a treat.
  15. Gotta say that is some top work there man ,and agree it goes right with your decor ,luv the wood burner bty.
  16. Also dig around in the past posts you'l find good info ,as to how to fasten them to the forks pouches etc though i gotta say some old work boots give up very good pouch leather an if yer in a hurry to get some lastic try some rubber bands chained together .
  17. Ive heard that simple shots lastic is the dogs from others who use it almost exclusively ,though my self i've not tried it yet like the longetivity of chinese tubes an am waiting for a friend to send me some neo squares to try out ,but sooner or later i'm gonna give em a go as well .
  18. Nice shootingLongers7 not been out much ma self ,been seein some young rabbits lately though so nother week i might just get out ,just put some stain on a ash natty an well when i get it sealed an all i thinkthats gonna be one of my main hunting cattys this year.
  19. I've seen em dried at a right angle an mounted to a frame to use as a gun rack .
