  3. Use filter every time out slip the dog down with filter on the a pal will have a lamp ready to put on when dog is getting close
  4. Never seen a staff work, If I'm honest I never seen one that I would call athletic
  5. Took a lot if time to get his recall even half decent, I have found with this dog you gotta show him who is boss or he would take the piss. Lucky a was able to call him out on this particular day as he was up to his quarry, I was going my nut, some people will say the dog has no heart to walk away but I know if he wasn't called out he would of dispatched it but as I don't carry a spade or collar it isn't exactly ideal
  6. Nah if he drops in lurchers let me know where he is and I call him out but if I know the land I will put him on a lead if I am heading towards an earth
  7. The only thing about bushing terriers is that some will go to ground as I have experienced a few times, he's my dog decent dog works well and puts plenty out for the runners ???

My pup put a sheep on its back when he was around 13 month old and realy tryed it on was the first time he was of the leash around sheep and he had only seen them a hand full of times I corrected him for it and he knew he had done wrong now if I see sheep in a feild I normally leash him up and walk thro watching the dog to see if he shows interest so far so good so I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and hope for the best

  11. was that one gaffers pups you had?anything on the rest of the litterI lamp with gaffer and the 2 pups he kept back are getting regular graft. One is built like a tank. They are both doing there job but both still learning. Where one fails the other excels and vice versa They should make handy dogs. Is that the black dog and red bitch, be nice to see few pics of them now I liked the look oft the them think they were beddy grey X bull grey or summit like tha ?

  13. I've never had out to do with the gwp hence why I'm asking a few questions, how big are this breed generally?
  14. Collar on all the time even when mooching, something to get hold of if things get messy, been a few times out mooching and something has got up and ran towards a road and as dog runs past managed to grab him by the collar and possibly stopped him from getting ran over
  15. I would imagine one of these gwp could clear a wood to waiting running dogs or guns ??
  16. Use a Lakeland terrier he works well, always catching in the cover mainly pheasants and dues get plenty rabbits won't hunt far on a line tho as he will go so far then return but that is my doing as I sometimes work him near roads

Also my young dog is great with people out side but if he don't know some one and they come to mine like old pals it family you only see once a year I have to put him out the way because he will sit beside me or my lass snarling at them and I think he would actually go for them if they were to get to close but he is fantastic with the niece and nephew

I k ow what you mean I have a stronger bond with my older dog which never seems to get on my nerves and just seems to do everything right but the pup will test your patience, and when I meet up with a Freibd for a lamp or mooch he gets real excited and sort of over powering where some dogs have went for himWell next season they should have settled down!!   22. That was a realy nice litter and yes I belive my own dog will be much better next season but for a first season dog he is makeing good progress
  23. Yeah mine is the same, it realy gets on my nerves as I'm used to my other dog walking beside me on the slip
  24. How you getting on with your young animals, are they making good progress or slow to mature? I have a young dog on my self that has his problems but he is makeing a tidy animal and at around 18 month or so if he carries on the way he is then he will keep me happy for a lot of years. I'll upload a picture or two a bit later on tonight ?
