  1. Good going mac, the pro sport really is the business mate, happy as a pig in sh1t with mine!
  2. That's the easy part! For me its .177. Always been a .22 man but since feb this year have really been enjoying the .177 cal and probably won't go back to .22 just because of the flatter trajectory.
  3. Hey buster, Its a good thread for debate mate, I hope you havnt taken anything I've said as a insult? It wasn't a dig. Both are great, but for my needs a springer is king right now. Phil
  4. That sir is brilliantly put! Sums it all up a treat! I would like a pcp to add to my springer but can't afford two rifles at the moment. If I could pick a pcp tomorrow I wouldn't be greedy, I would opt for a new BSA ultra multi shot or a AA 410 super lite hunter! Just been down the range with my AA Pro Sport and sat their enjoying hitting a really small spinner at 55 yards time after time. I struggle to see what a pcp can do in that scenario that my Pro Sport can't other than reload quicker and get the same result without having to hold the gun as precariously. Its all
  5. From what you have detailed I would say the 410 super lite would be right up your street as mentioned, laser accurate and ambi stock so both left and right handed shooters can use. Good amount of shots per fill as well in standard length as apposed to carbine length. But then again you would need to go shoulder one to see if it feels right for you and whoever else might be using it. Good luck Phil
  6. Si, Awesome video! Just watched it all back and it really does raise a few valid points for those that are insure of pellet power at range, how accurate a spring piston rifle can be in the RIGHT hands and just how much pcp's would struggle to match or better a group at that range. Matter of fact, map pin at 50 meters! Does it get any better than that? Well done mate, Phil
  7. Cracking write up mate. Ha ha that's brilliant!
  8. Good going buddy! The tall grass this time of year certainly hinders us shooters! Great read.
  9. He's got some skills with that boinger I tell yeah! Cracking bunch of lads.
  10. Superdomes don't come in different head sizes but are awesome in my HW77!! I've been in to several gun shops between Hampshire and Cornwall. 3 told me that the AA Fields only came in 5.5mm. It amazes me that some gun shops seem to treat airgun shooters as second class customers. That's about right ref the gunships telling you that! That's why I boycotted my local gunshop because I ended up having an argument with the owner who was hell bent on telling me that all domed pellets are the same and make no difference to groupings!!!!! Bloody idiot! I think my willingness to not accept that a
  11. Smashing video mate, great day out with the THL massive! There really was some first class shooting on display throughout the day! Can't wait for the next one! Phil
  12. Very well mate, my first ever time at hft so it were all new to me. I got a respectful score for recoiling. I'm sure with a few more outings up there I'll smash my score from today though. It was just really good to meet some new friends. I also had a few admirers checking the pro sport out ha ha. Gonna have to get you along timmy as well! Phil
  13. Mate good job they have a plinking range at old downs because my scope was out by 3 inches to the left and low! I need to drive slower I think! Phil
  14. Nice rifle, lovely looking dog and nice shooting, well played. Phil
  15. Nice to meet you today mate, and everyone else for the first time! We won't tell them who came last as it will spoil the surprise ha ha, watch the video when it goes live guys! The level of spring rifle shooting was really high today and the scores were all within a point or two of each other. The winds were causing havoc to begin with. Really enjoyable day, highlight for me was watching someone's moderator go flying of the end of their rifle about 20 feet in the air and land behind me in a bush ha ha! Top shooting lads, some of those 'easy' shots got the better of me, still kic
  16. I can't explain why it makes a difference but try yourself, get two tins of the same pellet in both head sizes, I can almost guarantee you will see a difference. I tried last week with 4.51 and 4.52 size superfields, the 4.51 were similar to a shotgun pattern and the 4.52 were very respectful. I'm not into the science of why it works or not but can only speak from experiance. Phil
  17. If you can afford any of those rifles and don't care whether its a springer or pcp then the HW100 is a very solid rifle, multi shot for quick reloading for the ratting and good on accuracy. Just remember if you get a pcp you will need a bit extra for a dive cylinder or pump to charge air into the rifle. Sorry if you already know all this but I don't know how new you are to airgunning mate. Although the 410 will do everything the hw100 will but has a lesser shot count I believe. If its main purpose is ratting I would go the pcp route. Phil
  18. Oh Christ, my first go at hft and we have the THL sniper section coming along! Grrrr! Is there a trophy for last place? Phil
  19. Bet if you cut that spring down a bit more to say 9.3ft/lb you. Would notice it was blisteringly accurate! Just goes to show power isn't everything! Phil
  20. Hey Craig, I've certainly noticed an upsurge lately in the amount of shooters purchasing a springer. Si and Davey run one of the most popular youtube channels out there and coupled with their skills with a springer its no doubt added to people going back to spring. Some days I really hanker after another pcp rifle to add to my springer for certain situations. I guess its horses for courses. I've noticed more people using springers at my local club as well. It is rewarding when your sat there with a row of pcp shooters and you notice them looking at your target card or your rifle.
  21. Lovely collection you have right there! They all look superb. Phil
