  1. OK ladies and gents - So I've got a managerial interview tomorrow for a care company Divided on what to wear, some say trousers and shirt, I like the sound of this because I feel more comfortable. Others are saying no, suit and tie! And I understand why. What's the general consensus. Smart/Casual and comfortable or aim to impress with a whistle and flute ? Thanks in advance
  2. By the look of the field in your profile pic, you'll want a blitz! Striker for me in smaller fields
  3. I haven't read all replies, pardon me if it's already been suggested - but perhaps you should keep a printed summary of the law for display? http://archive.defra.gov.uk/rural/countryside/hunting/briefguide.htm might stop Pc plod wasting his and your time messing around on a laptop
  4. I'm a wannabe cocker owner myself, and will likely purchase one in the future. I'm not all that clued up on lengths of tail - is 3/4 on not the legal requirement? And providing that's true, when would you be permitted to have any more off, down to a half tail for example?? I would like a working cocker to have as short a tail as possible ?
  5. Cracking photos and dogs Cwn-hela. I miss that land
  6. To say bad comes from bad or good comes from good depends entirely what you are classing as a good/bad trait...good/bad owner......the greatest trait within an Apbt is gameness and the desire to never stop an aggressive encounter once started......yet in a family pet dog situation that is a risky, possibly disastrous trait to have !...................so is a person who sells the greatest trait the breed has into the worst possible type of home a good or bad owner/breeder ? I probably sound like a broken record on this subject but i still maintain that the further you breed working/sporting d
  7. Ha ha I meant *Is the differential worth it? Thanks gentlemen, Osram it is. . As for the different out put, damn it, might just purchase the variable!
  8. Done. I'll share on my FB page, should get a few signatures. Good work Born Hunter, well done
  9. As stated. What bulb do you use? Obviously the lower the wattage the longer the battery life. Got a 22amp lithium battery. 100, 75, 50??? Use the differential worth it? Cheers gents.
  10. Yes the pit bull terriers are no doubting dangerous dogs being so fast and powerful for relatively small dogs. . That tendency to 'snap' would be more owed to the terrier ancestry than the bull, the British bull dog is far more placid than the jack russel for example. My father was a friend to Maurice Dann of Plymouth, I often had the privilege of roaming around his court yards with his boys when I was 11/12, I became fascinated with the temperament of these infamous dogs. . I knew what they were bred and used for and expected to be met the rails with fearsome vibes, instead they were ste
  11. To add, I don't believe the bull type dog is anymore dangerous in temperament than most any other breed, I think they just attract the wrong owners and consequently become boisterous in nature. No bad dogs for me, just bad owners.
  12. Terrible news and circumstance. Heartfelt commiserations for the family. . My little boy is 6 months, I would be utterly devastated. No news of the breed of dog, I'm edging my bets on bull type? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-29491535
  13. I think TOMO' was a Deerhound/Whippet/Greyhound. . Different animal when compared to the 1st cross Whippet/Grey - I've owned the both, handy animals. Was Dave Sleight breeding whippet/greys? Or maybe kelpie/greys. .
  14. Given the fact that a lurcher/sighthound has an inherent instinct to chase anything that moves, it is down to the owner to do the best with engraving the rules of engagement. I had a dog pre ban, Deer/Grey x/Collie Grey, would take anything regularly run on UK soil, single handed. He was as good as gold with the sisters pet rabbit and even the next door neighbours kitten. It can be done. I say "do the best" because that's all you can do, one of my current two long dogs is a 100%, the other I wouldn't trust as far I could throw him with cats. . If in doubt, keep it on a lead. Responding
  15. I was using the fine straw dogger. . I managed to shift the flees from the ferrets. . Yesterday however when cleaning out the tiers I put my hob and gill in a disused tier, always has been, when I finished I put them back but noticed fleas on them on them . . Immediately I turned my attention to the spare tier, turned over the straw and my days it moving with jumping fleas! Never seen so many of the damn things. Back to square frigging one
  16. Check out the litter for in Tiverton, Devon. On Pets4Homes. Wheaton/Bull/Greyhound x Bull/Greyhound. The sire is a machine. Never seen the dam run.
  17. Maybe so Bob, and yes it would have been her first litter. But more than likely I think it was a case of the first instance of the above post, not fertile and the roly poly effect came from over feeding! She back to normal now, so all's well. Cheers gents
  18. OK, fleas aside. I was given a lovely little working gill from an old boy who giving the game up. Now she came into season not long after I got her (mid July, late I know ?) So for obvious reasons I put my hob to her over three nights, job done, she came out. I separated her accordingly and upped her feed (I like to keep my ferrets like my dogs, lean) So she started putting on weight and I did my ground work (finding them homes) I've always kept hobs in the past so not particularly familiar on pregnancy progress, but again did my homework. The gill was getting nice and round and I was anti
  19. Cheers guys. I suppose I posted more out of frustration than anything else. Just one of those things I guess. I'll be giving the aforementioned treatment a go next time though
