  1. Mole on here as one, they come in two power models I think 7+FPE and 10+FPE. very easy to tune like the INOVA was. heavier than the INOVA due to stock.
  2. Bit of a puzzle there Bud, Its possible that the 0 ring on the pellet probe has gone, the Ultra will still fire pretty good with light pellets which perhaps your RFD used to Chro it. But if your using heavy types then the power loss becomes more noticable. If you have the older type Ultra make sure you arent pulling it back with your hand against the cocking knob when firing. Again that will stop the gun firing with full efficency. Check the pellet probe 0 ring first.
  3. If you do a lot of rat shooting then you would be better off using a Hawke red dot sight. nice and quick to pick up the target, and at the range their mostly shot at more than up to the job. I use one around farm buildings for squirrel and federal pigeon shooting and I find it good.
  4. Yes Bud, there are specialized High scope mounts that enable you to see open iron sights through the base of the scope mounts. they are available from several makers, the only downside is using such mounts mean the scope has to be mounted higher than usual which obviously creates pellet drop differences compared with normal scope pictures.
  5. Arh well, I was peed up when I made my daft comments in fact I cant remember thank God what I must of wrote. however I have stepped up to the plate and apologised to the mods for my crass comments and my apology has been accepted. The reply about looking out for the door hitting me on the back of the head if I leave the forum speaks perhaps more of the posters outlook of life than mine, I was after all attacking the offensive post directed towards young Mike and his present dillema. anyway I digress, May I wish the sane members of this forum a merry Xmas to themselves and their families. Good
  6. On sober reflection I realise I posted stupid stuff last night I am glad the mods took it off. Took too much whisky for a broken tooth! Wife gave me a rollicking as well.
  7. Who is moderating this forum? I took umbrage at someones P**S take at Mikes plight less than 30 minutes ago and the P**S take and my angry reply has disapeared?? this is not how a forum should be run. I am P****D off that comments good or bad are being removed under some ****** Political Correct looney removing my or anyone elses posts. if this continues I will sod off to a forum where posters views are printed, or is this what happens after countless people have died for freedom of speech?.
  8. FFS!. as pointed out when out in the field a expierenced shooter knows what he, the gun, and pellet is capable of. Fact to go out with ammo that is unknown, untried, OR CAN ONLY PRODUCE ACCEPTABLE ACCURACY BY SHOOTING FROM A RIGID MOUNTING IS NOT POSSIBLE! FACT. Look back over the years at different ammo from various makers and bet your last dollar that brit ammo just isnt in the top 10 makes, other of course the good stuff from AA. Daystate. and Bisley Meybe I am Wrong but there is ammo out there that I wouldnt touch with a bargepole!!
  9. How about we chuck in a few quid to help young Mike at this time which should be a time for happiness for us Brits? I know he would be mad with us to accept any help but! I am 73 years old and hese just a wippersnapper and I am sure he wouldent quarrell with me, so if Zini or Davey would act as treasurer I will chuck in £20.00 to ensure he , his wife, and kids will have some sort of Xmas to be remembered. C,mon guys, lets go for it. yours with respect, Ron, (Tron.)
  10. I see the maker didnt complain when Roy Williams praised them even though Roy shot his groups without a fixed rest! perhaps hese a better expert than Darrel! certainly many other shooters didnt like them after all who goes hunting and pulls off every kill with a fixed rest!
  11. Interesting video there SF, thanks for sharing it
  12. He's got a fecking big belly to hold it in aswell  It's been a joy reading the thread Miles and I hope you and the family have a great Christmas and I'm looking forward to your new adventure in the coming months . Steve Yes All the best for Xmas young Mike, See you next year. Cheers, Ron.
  13. Or just like banging a big bird!!
  14. Well looking at the guy named in the video Blow By Blow, if Dieter Blow is the wealthy land owner having Mike evicted I was taken back by his comment "You have to go out into the world and do your own thing!" Erh, aparently that dosent apply to young Mike and his family! Hrm, one law for him and another law for lesser "In his opinion" people. What a pompous Pr**k. Good luck Mike.
  15. I have only tried 4 moderators. the best was a HW mod. 2. BSA VC Mod. 3. WhisperMod 4th AA Mod. certainly other good ones are made by Swift, twink, marksman, and meybe one or two more I can only say what I have tried.
  16. Correct, you could have it Parkerised .
  17. Pwhew, lucky escape there Roger mate, glad your in one piece!
  18. Thanks Daz, youve saved me a tenner, there Bud.Think its best to stick with what I like. Cheers.
  19. I like TH stocks the only problem I had with one when fitted to a HW springer it was a bit of a pain to remove my hand from the TH stock to disengage the safety button. then to put my hand back in the stock. as for greater accuracy NO!. the main thing is the stance and steadyness of aim!
  20. I purchased one last month Rob, tested it against a HW and a BSA VC one, I took it back and had a refund.
  21. I would try another moderator and see if the accuracy would be improved more than the twink one, at the end of the day its worth a try.
  22. If its leaking through the barrel when the rifle has been charged then you have foreign matter on the firing valve seat. If you havent cocked it and you are trying to fill it from empty then air will escape through the barrel. if there is air in the resevoir and its still leaking then there is dirt on the valve seat
  23. If you want a precharged rifle I have a A A .177 Classic, S400. pre tamper absolutely unmarked. as unused for a long time. fitted with a Moderator, as brand new, no dinks, scratches, or marks anywhere, was being kept as a sleeper. if your interested give me a PM for the price. much less than a HW or BSA springer.
  24. Yep puts the rest of us to shame! Well done .
