    Just been reading the op post with the video of the severed thumb top and the story by pianoman Hrm, made me think that with some owners I am suprised there arent more incidents.     Airgunguy is correct, the Stoeger did cause me problems with the barrel droop he referers to! I didnt have no problems with the barrel catch in all honesty but maybe I had a good un! I remember one of the first things I had to do was to put in a "lead" in to the barrel breach it was just a sharp edge for the insertion of the pellet into the bore! but in all honesty I was impressed with the finish of the piston! compared with the the much vaunted ? BSA Meteor piston!. which was just a rolled metal affair with a split skirted tube assembly.

    For that kind of money I would get a HW 95K. After all if you can only have a legal limit rifle I think it would be a waste of money fitting a really expensive scope plus being a break barrel many of the expensive, and heavy, high magnification, scopes favoured by the recoilless pre charged owners, would be too long to be fitted on a break barrelled springer because you would not have the the clearence to open the breech as the long scopes would foul the barrel opening. A 3X9X40 pa scope would be ample. Good luck.

    Mine was a .177 and it was accurate It was putting out over 13FPE and I had to lop some of the spring off before I part exited it for another AA 400 model.

    Hiya, yep its a very well made gun for the price, inside it has a very well made piston and the lock up and accuracy is good. the main gripe is the trigger second pull goes on forever, on mine I drilled and tapped a 3m/m hole and fitted a grubscrew and a locking nut was added to set the final sear release. which made a nice short release stage. you can get a custom made trigger from Welsh Willy who does these conversions , mine came with a excellent Stoeger branded 3X9X40 PA scope that has a very good sight picture.

    Hey Roger mate, you two aint the only fine weather shooters out there!. After shooting every week without fail in all weathers,for over 40 years! getting frozen, soaked, sunburned, and racking up thousands of miles, my clapped out old body has said! ENOUGH" I only go out now if its a dry day and no chance of getting soaked. the young guys who brave all weathers will be saying "Enough" as well when they reach our age!! :yes:

    You will find rebluing can be a very expensive repair. Try to get a quote from companies who carry out metal finishing services. you will find that a "parkerised" finish is good on steel components, anodising and other treatments are available the same as the original ones on the alloy parts, ie, breech assemblies, loading bolts.etc,

    New type?? dont think so mate, been no new type produced hearsay is a funny old thing When I repeated new type I was refering to the LATEST gas rams which are supposed to be made in China which explains (If true) the sudden unreliability by seal failure..

    I have just heard that Theoben rifles are Kaput. seems that some of the staff have bought about its demise. Guys have been saying that the new type gasrams they have been using have been failing very quickly (just a couple of weeks in some cases) one guy sent his month old back for repair, took two weeks. shot 30 pellets and failed again.others have had the same problems, complaints were made about a couple of the women office staff who had a take it or leave attitude and couldn't care if the customer was peed off. Another guy, a shop owner said he ordered two new rifles and it took 11 months
