  1. has you say mate always nice to see a pup retrieving all the bull xs i had were natural retrievers sounds like your pup as a good natural retrieve which helps all the the best with the youngster socks
  2. what a good picture gaz i like that and how the pup is looking up at you make a nice drawing or painting that maybe you and nl are to much alike
  3. no nl is it not better you and gaz get along maybe have a walk and a chat and air your differences never know might even like each other

  7. sound advice buster the 3/4 whip bed i owned was a joy to have around but sadly died young hunted marked and worked with the terriers/ ferrets like a veteran and never a peep out of him being honest was to good of a dog for a young lad has i was then but we had some fun would own him again in a heart beat good luck in whatever your choice craig

    i remember when i first started out in 81 we use to go were bunnies could be found with a collection of terriers lurchers some owned or borrowed or any mongrel that was walking the streets permission never crossed are mind just the thrill of the chase or maybe catching and having to chuck little stones up at your mates windows because he over slept god knows how many farms we crossed working the railways or the river banks even the quarries got are attention if we got caught out we played ignorant just use to get told dont come on again we agreed but knowing we would be back next week an
  10. thats the type i admire also but with growing old with like you say your more careful in your choice of land but its has much has looking at yourself how you can improve as well has your mutt but to own such a dog is still a goal whether i can do it justice is another story
  11. never have owned such a type morton i can only say you must of been blessed to have such a mutt i have seen a few you describe and they were a pleasure to watch the old lad near me has had the pleasure to own a few like yours most a collie grey deer hound mix but they were never a true allrounder but served a purpose every dog has its faults its working to its strengths that make a dogman
  12. a bit of a jack of all trades master of none some excel at certain tasks but make hard work of others its about working to there strengths and putting other tasks in there favour
  13. rather than let the lad get mulled i was told in that if that was happening they should of told the other lad to take it easy and let the other lad throw some shots so he could work on his defence and movement but sounds harsh what did happen and its all about building experience and confidence

  17. first of all wilf good luck with your move mate and your new life like you we had looked at moving to ireland we were about to put a offer in on a place in mayo a nice little place but due to certain reasons we had to put it on hold about 15 year ago now hopefully one day but atb with the move

  19. i agree with sandy it was a litter that caught the eye for anyone wanting a pup they were reared right and looks like deans good work is being carried on with the new owners a cracking bunch who im sure will do there owners proud
  20. why they are still giving there owners enjoyment and still catching on 3 legs as long as there healthy and the owners still happy why not

  22. congratulations on your good news gnash i understand your dilemma but i think the longer you leave it the harder it will be to go but once the grandchild arrives i know that it will become even harder to go just follow your heart mate and give it a go and good luck with whatever you decide and your only a short flight away if you needed to come back
