  1. Ive had Springers and about to get another but never a Cocker..Ive seen some good ones and just liked the look but I didnt know if they were as robust or as strong thats all.
  2. The tree isnt automatically worth a lot of money because its Walnut..It has to be right, but how I dont know. Best wood for gunstocks.
  3. Whats best wasp trap. Im using bottle trap at the moment and it works good with fizzy pop. Any better quicker ideas? Im trying to save fruit.
  4. Thats not the origional wheel is it? I would of thought the origional would be more like a bike wheel.
  5. Any cat outside its owners home and on its own is fare game and should be killed ASAP IMO
  6. Yes I think your right mate, they do love to hunt but I found they need to be left for it to come out before any heavy training starts. Do you think Cockers are the same or as good as Springers?
  7. laying bricks should give you strong wrists and fore arms shouldnt it? Big muscles dont make the best grafters anyway
  8. Not disagreeing with anything said so far but I would add that conditioned muscle when standing relaxed should never feel hard but more like firm rubber.
  9. yes ive compared them all and none of them are as good as the clulite "Blazerlite" withe 100 watt bulb. Wired much better than any shitty Deben and all British made..
  10. Do you mean wrist injury or hock?
  11. Not much point in adding pure Grey in my opinion to anything that already has it in its makeup.. A lot of the Greys today are a bit wimpy anyway.I think its the Aussie blood. some of them look like razor blades. Coursing dogs in Ireland are bred for straight line pace and not open coursing. Many of them are 90-100lb in weight. They are not built for turning.Bare in mind Master mgrath was around the 50lb mark, thats a very small bitch size today, yet he won the Waterloo 3 times and shared it once..The only point using a pure Grey is in a f1 hybrid, and thats when a lot of thought should go into th
  12. Sorry I dont know mate,it was years ago 5 or 10 and it was someone writing about this spaniel pack. They were never used for gundogs but run like a pack doing fox drives up and down the country. Spaniels inc Springer and Cocker can be a lot more of a dog if allowed to. Have a look at the other post about saniels in the bushing section "Spaniel not just a gundog"
  13. Nice one, that spaniel is relentless and doing all the work.
  14. pure springer wont hunt line of a fox. You can bush foxes with Spaniels, its just the gundog lads stop them.. A few years ago there was pics of a team of Spaniels used purely for fox drives, that went all over the country in EDRD...It all depends on how you bring them up,and Spaniels aint as soft as some think..
  15. Keep your dog in firm muscle as it should be.That should impress a judge of working dogs.. Do you work your dog at all? it certainly looks a useful sort.
  16. I dont really concern myself with whats popular or what people choose to keep,I only really care about whats in my own kennel and how to go forward with it,but I cannot understand why you believe people are better for having a Beddy cross than an Airdale cross or a Deerhound/Greyhound than a Saluki/Greyhound. Why cant you accept that folk have diffrent opinions? I dont keep Saluki lurchers but who couldnt have respect for some of the work they pull off. Thers nothing wrong with the old type of lurcher if thats what you prefer and thats the dog you should recommend to Cargol if you think its
  17. His number was in CW and EDERD for years so I dont think he'll be bothered about that.
  18. Anybody read that book "The last English poachers" it looks like it might be a good read, but I thought the two hounds on the front looked like pure Greyhounds.
  19. why not a pure Spaniel mate?
  20. Yes much better to have a wider scope to draw from, when your main interest is in writing books and articles for papers every week. I could hardly see your post for adverts. Some of us have drawn our honest opinions from 30+ years in dogs and will offer an opinion when asked for (see cargols post) It may be biased and narrow buts its mine and given for free...You didnt even bother to offer the lad an opinion, just jumped on the bandwagon trying to sound clever as usual....Your just a female Plummer love....full of it. Are you having a bad day jeemes? I read alot of your posts, most of whic
