  1. Tried other rounds but come back to 40g winchester X subs. They hit nice and hard as well.
  2. I got a Harris and a Edgar Bros. Both are a joy to use, smoothy and quiet. Cheap Chinese imports are a pain to fit, noisy, and get you frustrated. Not what you want when shooting.
  3. Ring the FAO and ask. It's the only way you can be 100% sure you won't get any grief if anything goes wrong. You can then say ''FAO said it was OK''.........ass covered!.
  4. I have scopes with, even on my air rifle. Reason being the night vision works better with it.
  5. Both mine have had trigger kits added. Like different guns. On you tube there are vids of the kits and how to fit them. To punch the pins out i used a small drill bit.
  6. I have a .22lr and a 17hmr both CZ American. Like others have said, get trigger kits, makes the world of difference.
  7. I used to get a lot of ringing in the ears, especially at night when trying to sleep. An old boy told me to cut back on salt, i used to eat shit loads of the stuff. Have to say, for me, it made a big difference. Worth a try......if you eat a lot of salt that is.
  8. You hear some people talk about Firearms officers like they are people to be feared. I have to say that the one that does my area is brilliant. He's very reasonable, to the point, gives you information when you want it and from my first dealings with him i have never had a problem. I had to meet him last Tuesday to look over a farm i had just got permission to shoot. There was one area he said he didn't want me to shoot, due to the M5, but i knew that anyway so that was fine. What do other people think?. Do you like your FAO or do you see him as 'the one to be feared'.
  9. You say 'very quiet is a must'. 17HMR isn't very quiet so that kind of rules that one out. If you use a range finder, with a .22lr, then you know where to place the cross hairs on the rabbit at different ranges. Even out to 100yds, with a bi-pod, you shouldn't have any problems. The ammunition and rifle is cheap, compared to FAC Air, and it's quiet!.
  10. For a Cherry picker you need a MEWP's ticket, a 'Mobile Elevated Works Platform' ticket. The company i worked for paid for mine, i know they are not cheap, but if you are going to be using a MEWP for work purposes you should have a ticket.
  11. CZ 452 with SAK MOD and a MTC Mamba lite scope. I find 40gr winchester hollow points work best. I have never cleaned mine either.
  12. Its quite obvious your knowledge on NV is outdated the archer isn't even in the top 3 and the firefly laser is the same, both are well over priced, might of been top bits of kit 10 years ago but now day we know better. Top 3 of what?. I go by what i have seen and know. I had seen this before i bought it, and i know it does want i want it to do. Plus if it breaks down i got a no quibble guarantee from a company in Britain. You can actually speak to the owner of the company, Julian, and he is happy to talk to you. I have had it now for about 6 months and i can't fault it. You say it's ove
  13. Place the cabinet on top of a piece of 3oomu visqueen PIFA grade DPM(damp proof membrane) or a nice thick piece of plastic. Drill through the membrane but some silicone sealant under the cabinet, only by the holes, before you do the bolts/nuts up. When fixed cut off any membrane that is still showing. I keep a couple of Napier pouches in my cabinet. It stops any moisture getting in.
  14. Archer starlight with a firefly laser. Yeah it's expensive, but you can use it for spotting, and in 2 ticks it's back on the scope ready to shoot.
  15. CZmags.co.uk I got my spare mags from these people. The mag you want is £28.95 free p+p, that's a 10 round mag. They are a ballistic nylon polymer (plastic) but i have 3 in .22lr and 3 in .17hmr and have had no problems with them.
  16. I have my scope set up for day shooting, come night i put the monocular on the back, then slip on the butt extender that i have extended even more....works a treat!.
  17. Got a CZ 452 American (LT Hand), LEI moderator, Hawke sidewinder 30 4-16x50 scope. Very happy with this set up. If you do get a CZ make sure you get a trigger kit. With out the kit the trigger is heavy. I found i was pulling shots to the right . With the trigger kit it's well smooth and spot on!.
  18. Green Cuprinol. Try it, it works.....and it's cheap!.
  19. That's gonna be a nice trap. Put some more picks up when you have finished it.
  20. If you have a rabbit trap try putting a blob of peanut butter, just behind the trigger flap, with a couple of hazel nuts stuck in the top. They can see it, they can smell it, and they can't resist it!. I use fat balls as well, some times you get magpies with them. Last year when i had a fat ball in there i came out in the morning and there was a black bird in there. He was flapping around, and a bit upset, as i let him go .Every morning i would come out and there was this bloody black bird just sat there waiting to be let out after eating his fill of fat ball, come the end i would open the trap
  21. Definitely got to be in .177, but thanks anyway.
  22. Thanks but i got me heart set on a 310.
