    Couldn't agree with you more. Some have knowledge and are happy to advise, some claim to have knowledge and try to advise, some will diss you for asking and don't want to help their fellow hunting men. Looks like you've had a mixed response but it's easy to sort the wheat from the chaff and ignore the negative elements. Sounds like you are doing ok to me, mate.     My Mrs had a really shit Xmas when she was 12. Came down stairs to a whicker wash basket. 'Very funny' she thought, thinking her 'real' presents were inside. She lifted the lid to reveal.......a small box of quality street.

    For many years in succession, a close family friend got me a multi-tool. One year, she got me one for my birthday as well as Xmas! Worst of it was, I never really use em! So gave a few away, but kept one inthe glove box and one in the shooting toolbox- you never know!

    Kind of agree, but I do think you can make an educated guess about someones character having read a few of their posts. Not a decision regarding if you can trust them to a high level, but more if you could get on with them.

    Totally agree, Paul. Trust grows with time and experience of people. There's 3 men I trust utterly; my father, my elder brother and Captain Shitshot. Then there's I trust to a point and that's more down to judgement than anything else. I've met a handful of guys from THL, some I would trust, maybe 1 I'm not so sure of and my gut doesn't usually let me down on this. Cheers Duncan.

    Safety is a concern to some, but I feel there are an awful lot of traditionalists out there who prefer to see side by sides on 'their' driven game shoots.

    I had my first auto a few years back - an Audi A4 2.4. Fab car easy to drive and quick off the line too. Thirsty? couple of mpg worse than a manual. Now got a Jaguar 3.0 S type, again, a couple of mpg down on the manual, but it still averages between 25 and 28 mpg, 35+ on a longer run at near legal speeds. Wouldn't have a manual again now, unless it was 2 litres or less. I've tried a couple of cars that were 1.8 and 2.0 auto's , but they were slow and noisy, not good. IMHO, if youre getting an auto, ideally a V5 or V6 engine will be infinitely more satisfying than an inline 4 of moderate ca

    Not had any high speed accidents, but when Solstice Blaze treads on your foot as he trots past, it can bring a tear to the eye. (He's about 150lbs).

    scientifically proven - its genetic. A recessive gene is responsible. It happens in the animal kingdom too - dolphins, dogs, chickens apes etc etc etc. A bit like our very own appendix is a throwback to our ancestry when our kind left the seas and had multiple stomachs; its a throwback to our primeval ancestry, to a time when most of life was a-sexual or hermaphroditic. Just be glad your genetic mix made you heterosexual and made your life simple for you.
