  1. She looks a nice type - if i had the room i would be there like a shot, but one deerhound is enough, hope you find her a good home, where shes apprechated and not used. Sorry to hear about your loss.
  2. Theres no better way to spend a sunny day - than spending it in the garden, watching the wildlife.
  3. Take it there blue tits? We have quite a few come every morning and evening - last year one of the youngsters was persistant in trying to get in to the house. We currently have these nesting just outside the bedroom window. just trying to get them used to me being around, there ok if im outside or in the window and will sit there but dont like it if i open the window.
  4. Once meat is cooked the eggs /larve if youve missed any will be killed, but you need to make sure you cook it properly. Its not only rabbits that carry tapeworm cysts like this - you can get tapeworm from undercooked pork and beef also fish Is everyone just gone turn vegi as you may as well.
  5. You probably have the other peice missing, theres a peice that you attach to the underneeth of your camera, that unclips off the tripod. Best picture i could find, although this is slightly different, but you can see the connector on the top of thr tripod.
  6. I hate the idea of people having to cull litters down, if im honist i could never do it. But the way things are going ( and so long as its done without suffering) its probably better or better still dont breed at all, even rescues are struggaling with the amount of dogs needing to come in - as not enough are going out. My foster dog has been with me since october and not one bit of intrest - even though she would make a great family pet.
  7. Try useing the search at the top and you will probably find some further posts on the breed.
  8. Think i own a warthog! Good job she loves water and cleans up pritty quick.
  9. Most camera shops send them back to canon to sort, it would be easier just to send direct. http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/consumer_products/services_locator/index.aspx
  10. If it was me i would starve for 24 hours, make sure there taking water though and change to fish and either rice or boiled sweet potato - chicken is one of the foods most dogs react to, you could also add some slippery elm to the food, as that helps the stomach. If the dog is still the same after that i would take a stool sample to the vets and ask them to run tests on it.
  11. By making everything boring and not having a routine - for the first few days they go no where (except the garden) the house is always calm and relaxed anyway, there taught that in the house they have to relax - they can chew the toys and bones that are around but that's it, i don't massage them as such, but do use heavy long strokes, the first command they learn is enough. When they go out that's where they find the fun is - but again that's controlled and if they get over the top - games are stopped and we go back to being boring again, they learn that I'm in control of things It

  13. Problem with tug is it can actually heighten a dogs energy, depending on breed. Friend used to have a EBT he used to play tug with it every now and then, after that dog had been playing tug - it actually turned aggressive. If i play tug with my beddy x - it doesn't calm her down or get rid of her energy she gets more hyper and i end up having to give her time outs to calm her down again. First thing i teach any of my dogs when they come to me is how to relax - that helps reduce any tension they have, and ensures i don't have crazy dogs - that cant get rid of there energy.
  14. Welcome - really enjoyed reading that post
  15. Tbh with bitch's its hard, once they have started that's it - bitch's hold a grudge and never really let things drop. Personally I've been through this and it ended up i had to keep both bitch's separate, they had lived with each other for 8 years without problems, they started off the same as yours few occasional fights then they were ok, it got to the point they couldn't be in the same room as each other. The only thing you can try is strict rules, no playing together, feeding and bones separate and no toys, spaying one may help - as at the moment they are both equals - the
  16. Ive given mine frozen quite often, normally chicken wings or carcases - never cause a problem so far reason mine get it frozen is so they take their time eating it. the dobermans used to get fed frozen chicken mince in summer when it was hot, as they lived out it meant the meat didn't go off as quick - never affected them either.
  17. Just be aware as well to much fat can cause pancreatitis.
  18. Not a clue lol - but have just found this, so your probably right.
  19. Have used the uniross before and there quite good chargers. My local Asda are selling chargers for 6 quid - energiser ones, dont know if there selling for that price anywhere else round the country, but worth checking.
  20. Have they checked her for pancreatitis ? http://vetmedicine.about.com/cs/dogdiseasesp/a/pancreatitis.htm If it was me i would in all honesty ask to be referred as it sounds like your vets don't know where to turn, they should have referred you well before now.
  21. You are right, legally any caught vermin should be culled. But if any sad f****r wants to try and prosecute me for not killing a caught magpie based on this, then that is fine with me. Who hasn’t seen a wildlife programme on TV where they aren’t releasing foxes, grey squirrels and other pests? I don’t feel obligated to follow laws that are daft. Just because they are vermin there is no law saying you have to kill them, except grey squirrel and mink. all others can be legally released with the land owners consent rabbits, rats, foxes etc should not be released by law mate
  22. Should keep an eye on ebay - its where Ive bought my lens's from, my 70-300 is cost me £250
  23. I wouldn't give the human ones - but you could try some keepers mix. Personally though i wouldn't bother - if you feed a good quality food the dog will gain all it needs from that.
  24. All's it means is they have rights to use the photo when ever they wish, there would be a possibility that they would have rights to complain if you allow anyone else to use the photo. you would be credited every time they use the photo though. Personally if it was me i wouldn't enter - as once you allow them rights to use the photo there's nothing you can do to ever stop them using it for what ever they wish.
  25. If your feeding fish you don't need cod liver oil - you could be giving to much. Try some kelp in her diet and one trick we used to do especially with the horse's is use baby wipes, use unscented ones - groom her first and then go over her with one or two of them, it helps get some the crap out of the coat and gets rid of some of the dandruff. Or you could bath her - sometimes the coat drys out especially if there's a lot of dirt in the coat, bathing will also help loosen up any dead coat and help it come out much easier if shes a kennel dog i probably wouldn't do this till its mu
