Should Whin have been banned . vote either way

Dont know the guy, always came across a bit elitist to be honest. I joined the THL looking for support, information and the chance to learn from other peoples experiences who want to see their way of life shared with decent people who are genuinely interested. When Whin posted it was usually derogatory or very negative. There are some members on the site who have been absolute gems and I think most of us know who they are. Thanks to all the guys (and girls) who have been kind enough to other their opinions and experience with out using it against me. Nothing personal Whin as I am sure you are -
for the money very good, I live and die in mine. Pat

Cheers 88, thats the kind of response I was hoping to hear. It wont be until the spring probably but I will build them next week (probably) and want to make sure it is worth while. Pat

Hi guys, I am just about to embark on building new kennels and wondered if any of you fellas have had a dog that lived in then was moved outdoors. I have a 10month old lurcher that I want to move outside along with a new pup when it arrives and wondered if it is difficult or whether they just get on with it and adapt to new sorroundings. Have any of you done this? and can anyone offer me some advice or tips? it would be really helpful. Thanks Pat

Thanks Blackheart,Rik and FTB, top fellas with good advice and really helpful. As soon as I can find the right dog I will have one. Just got to knock up the kennels and sort out a heat lamp! No wonder I am always broke. Pat

Its ok FTB, I dont expect anyone to help me out. As for being a C**T, my wife agrees with you Just messing when I said the bit about being a pain, arent all dogs! I will try and get along to my local WTC when I get home early enough. I agree with all your points about a well bred pup but I just dont have the contacts as my mates arent really in to it and think I have gone mental. Pat

I have been told that Mustard,LOL. Arent all terriers a bit of a pain sometimes? I dont really see another alternative. Pat

Cheers FTB, defo not a pet although will spend a lot of time with me. Looking for a dog to dig with primarily. There does seem to be a lot of shite for sale on here, are the sellers any better in the EDRD? ATB Pat

Thanks guys, really useful. I will get one as soon as I find the right dog, easier said than done though as I just cant find one. Marshman, are you a part of the Kent WTC? I keep meaning to come along but I am usually late home on a Monday. I will try and make one soon though. I take it I wont need to build a run if I dont mind them having full run of the Garden? or am I better off giving them their own area? Keep it coming lads, all info is useful. Pat

I am at the stage where I am ready (i think) for my 1st Patterdale, I have been researching and looking around for around 6 months and I am confident I can give it the attention and work it needs. I just want to clear up a few point before I take the plunge. Are they genrally good with kids, it will be in a family environment with my 10 month Deer/Grey X Whip, will it kennel outside ok by its self? Where can I find a descent litter of workers? I dont mind travelling for the right dog. They seem hard to find with proven parentage! Is it worth trying to get a slightly older dog (1-2max) that

You're right Stabs, it was a very good issue this month. I do have one complaint though, its not long enough! Rascal, have you not received em yet, I got the secretary to post em out the following morning so you should have had em by now. If they dont arrive soon I will send you out another couple next week, let me know mate. Pat

Hi Mate Being quite new to terriers I was a little apprehensive about spending out on the books. I have read a fair few now and you cannot go wrong with any of the Dave Harcombe books. I found them to be a useful source of info on everything from "what makes a good dog for your purpose" to "how tactics apply due to the terrain". He also passes on lots of stories containing info that would be hard to get from any other source except getting out there yourself. The best thing for me is that I find my self returning to them as they are in-depth and you always read things a little differently and

Hello mate The mag is a great read, I will be more than happy to let you have a couple of recent issues to see if you like it before you subscribe(you will). Let me know an address to post a couple through PM or I am based near Chatham, Kent in case you find yourself nearby. Pat

Go on J.dog, go for it! At least we will all know it has gone to an experienced (if cramped) home and will be cared for and have a rosie looking future rather than an uncertain one being pulled from pillar to post. I would have loved him myself but I just dont have the experience with bullX's and have a new baby due in the new year. Whatever happens I hope he gets the home he needs, he is a beautiful looking dog. ATB Pat

actually, the old dear was her 2nd victim. As in one of my previous posts, a couple of months ago the pup ran in to me from behind sending me in to the air and leaving me in a state on the floor. Perhaps someone is trying to tell me to get rid of her before she kills me off! I am told deer hound X's are usually clumsy but I didnt think she would be this bad. I just hope she doesnt hit a tree at that speed!

No his retrieve was crap Had to give him a kick up the axxe about that. no, she just picked her up and did a couple of victory laps.LOL
-
Cheers fellas, you are right. I was more surprised a pup of her size can spin a fully grown adult in the air! Glad its not just me with a head case for a dog. Thanks for reading it in the way intended, some guys on here just seem to have a go at the slightest thing, I thought the idea of this site was to swap stories and support other like minded people, we have enough enemies out there without fighting amongst ourselves. Fair play Morton, my mistake. Felt bad enough about the incident all day. Just wanted to share the incident with the other guys on here to hear if similar things have happened to them, It might make me feel a little better. Thought that id kept it light hearted, it might get a kinder response. Definately not bragging about it pal Pat

It was written in jest and kept lighthearted, apologies were of course given to the poor old lady. You use language like that towards me again son and I will be saying hello to YOU very soon.

I was having a lovely mooch with my wife and dogs at luchtime, in the local woods not far from the house. Me and the wife are having a chat keeping an eye on the dogs and just relaxing, making plans for the weekend. As we rounded a corner to a path with woodland either side two old ladies out rambling appeared, again enjoying the fresh air. Then it all went wrong, my 9 month old lurcher was hammering around looking for my springer and suddenly ran across the path of the rambler completely taking her legs out from under her in the process. It was as if she didnt even notice she had hit the ramb
