  1. I've never seen that before mate, it's a good idea. I got 3 pieces of tin sheeting and 4 8ft posts and 2 hurdles and put a temp pen up with some lorry sheeting on for the roof to put mine in for 24hours, ring them, put stockholme tar on them because I've got 2 active pig earths bordering the ground, then let them go. I may try some bags myself next year it would be easier.
  2. I think goats take a bit of keeping in, also the bloody things will eat hedge rows like they are going out of fashion.
  3. Sorry to hear that mate. The worst part about me owning dogs is the misses moaning when I make her pick the shit up??
  4. How come you have got plastic jackets on the lambs mate?
  5. As long has you can except there’s no money in a few sheep and that it’s a nice hobby then I would get some and enjoy them. Depending on quality of pasture I think it’s between 2 and 5 ewes per acre so 2 will be plenty under stocked on your 2 or so acres. I’ve just taken on just over 2 acres of land with a small pond on myself. I took the ground on in February this year brought 6 inlamb ewes scanned with 5 singles and a twin. 1 ewe has aborted I’ve got 2 left to lamb but got 4 healthy lambs so far out of the others. Basically as far as I am concerned it’s a nice hobby and hopefully gets my you
  6. 10 years gone by allready it's Nutts. I remember the trip down to choose him and remember where he caught his first rabbit like it was just yesterday.
  7. Yes, too steep to get a machine on.
  8. Yeah, got a few in lamb ewes. A hobby for me and the kids, nice little pond on there as well. No doubt my boy will be around that when the frog spawn and tadpoles are about.
  9. Got sheep on there mate, just clearing it for the extra grazing.
  10. Good little vid that. Bracken is some tough old stuff
  11. Sounds like the best option. I will look into it. Thanks
  12. I've got about half a acre of bracken that I would like to get rid of on a small patch of ground. Has anybody got any knowledge on the best way to get rid of it. Would I gain anything if I cut the dead bracken now with a Strimmer/brush cutter and raked/cleared the area off before it starts to grow. I can then keep it strimmed off through the summer once it reaches about 8 to 10 inches in height. Pigs I believe would be ideal but they are not a option. Or would I be best leaving it until later in the summer and spraying it? It's on a steep bank so not accessible with tractors and to
  13. Don’t know about horses but I herd a rumour that cows get stopped a lot easier than you think.
  14. Had a similar sort of thing last year my lurcher dog was all over the bitch wouldn't leave her side for 5 days. No swelling spotting or nothing, about 4 weeks later she come into a full season. He's doing the same at the moment but she's showing no signs of being or coming in

    RIP jethro

Rip Jethro. I take it his mate denzal is gone too. Loved watching him when I was a young lad
  18. It's a sad state of affairs these days mate. It seems news these days is all about some dicks feeling being hurt for using the word black, or somebody being gender racist. Oh and covid. Serious stuff like murder and child abuse seems to have to take a back seat. The snowflakes must assume if its not mentioned then it never happened. World needs to change.
  19. I dare say it's Sunday out of hours consultation fee mostly. I took my bitch into my local vets early hours Saturday night/Sunday morning during the last tyson wilder fight. The consultation fee was £170 f***ing nuts. Basically I opened my car door let the dog out and the vet said your right the dog does need stitches, that's £170 ffs
  20. I haven't been doing a great deal of hunting this season for 1 reason or another, my bitch was showing signs of being tired from a split 40 bag we had Saturday night. I started off on the banks where she mopped up 13. I went to another area that generally holds plenty of rabbits, only had 2 there as I hardly seen a rabbit. I was sinking 3/4 of the way up my wellies in spots going along the winter rape. Being that wet there has probably made them move
  21. It might just be worth a look out mate, you might be presently surprised
  22. You not got any hill sides you can work the dogs on mate. I know it's still slippy but there's less chance of being water logged.
  23. I might have a little adventure out, had a decent night Saturday. A nice little 40 bag between me and a mate. His bitch and mine are litter sisters so it's nice to see them graft. I've done some rough nights over the years with trees blowing over.
