  1. nice one lads. it was a tad warm lastnight.
  2. as ray said it was a enjoyable couple of nights and a good crash course for young buck. although we had 30 lastnight i had a couple of little misshaps, we started at a spot and moved to another area. inbetween the two spots i stopped to have a look on a field and noticed i had left rays slip lead at the first spot, so we had to go back and find it which we did. when i finally got to the secound spot the bulb went on the lamp, luckily we wasnt far from home so we had to go back to the house to get a new bulb. then my 3rd misshap i got out of the motor and it started to role down a bank because
  3. i looked after a first cross for a couple of weeks a few years ago. i use to take it to some local fields and let it off the lead and you could just watch it run in a straight line until it got to the hedge then it would just run round the field untill it decided it wanted to come back to you lol. it was faster than i thought for a heavy looking dog. dont know what it worked like but they didnt keep it long.
  4. well done. i like to see whippets working the lamp.

  8. decided to take my young nephew out again with his two young gill ferrets. i had been lamping a spot the other night and noticed the rabbits mostly headed for one spot so today i decided to see if i could get any with the ferrets. i picked the young lad up at 11 o clock this morning and headed out to our spot. we pulled up and started off walking a hedgerow towards the place i had in mind, about 100 yards up the hedge i got a mark off my old dog under a small oak tree which was only 5 holes. i started to put the nets on and bang a rabbit bolted and off it went down the other side the hedge

  12. you got to be happy with that trip out mate well done.
  13. how hard do you work her when out, and how often do you take her out. Shes out lamping 3 times a week for 2-3 hours and out all day at the weekends if you dont work her for a week will she run the rabbits o.k then? collie blooded dogs can have some strange traits. Tryed it for 3 weeks. She was spot on last year but started doing it the first night i had her out this season my first impression is thats just the way she is as collie crosses can get this way. but as someone on this thread as mentioned it might be worth getting her checked for injury by a bone man. its funny she finish

  19. dont know if he is hooked but he enjoyed his self, he said the most he has ever caught with me before was about 10. we had to carry 34 between us at one point i was bloody glad he had come along i can tell you. ive told him it dont happen like that all the time
  20. bloody hell thats bad news. i was looking forward to seeing how those pups come along. i am sure you will find something to suit your needs oput there some where.
  21. one of my nephews asked me if they could go out lamping with me yesterday so i decided to take him out lastnight. anyway i picked him up from the house along with his brother and off we went just round the corner to my first spot. the weather was near perfect but the rabbits were lamp shy, i persisted on and managed a farely quick 10 considering. after the first 10 i had to get back to the house and drop one off my nephews off as he had work early this morning. now it was just me and my one nephew as the weather was so good i decided to pop back to the house and fetch my old dog for a run
  22. thats very true. and vice versa, went to a spot with bird a while ago and a field was crawling with rabbits called by early last week hoping to get a few runs only 2 rabbits there.
