  1. Had to get my lurcher done about 8 months ago as one hadn't dropped, like a different dog since..always trying to mount/dominate my non ped who's a lot bigger and swats him like a fly...prior to the op the lurcher never tried it on with him...They're both approaching 2 and a half yr old...
  2. Yeah I prefer a scratch dog...some dogs do really well of time trial or weight handicaps.. nowhere to hide in a scratch race...
  3. Makes sense now...read it at half one in the morning?
  4. What's inner whippets?not heard that before...
  5. Hes a big, strong dog,but I wont let him near anything other than a lure...maybe once hes retired from racing...tbh I'd say hes physically capable of taking anything over here, but with so much speed accidents are bound to happen,I buried a very fast beddy whippet /non ped couple years ago, blew his neck out in the field..couple of month shy of 2yr old..best dog I've ever had,I'd swap my left nut for another day with him..The non peds over here are anywhere between 16lb and near 70lb,mines the biggest out of the litter, some of them are under 30 lbs...
  6. If it's a non ped its definitely got greyhound in it...my non peds about 25tts and 52lb,he was growing and filling out till he was 2 year old. The really small non peds ie 16lbers are done by 10 month.A lot depends on the breeding...
  7. Not sure mate,I take my non ped to him at wigan ,I book him in via the shop number, hes there every fourth monday...I'm trying now to get his direct number, hes highly rated on the race circuit...
  8. Take her to Tom Peppercorn for a second opinion and a scan...
  9. Worth the money for the drawings though....
  10. There was a fella did the rounds at game fairs couple of years ago, with a pack of "working" Sealyhams, nice looking things, apparently he was charging £1200 a pup...
  11. Is that not the pup I brought up for you Keith?
  12. Go for the outcross, and then to the half brother....obviously providing both dogs are doing their job...
  13. Good luck Davie...hope you get what you're after....
  14. Theres always greyhound in a non ped Fred..
  15. I know a few people who work and race them, personally I'd never let mine anywhere near owt.Like putting an F1 car on a rally track, sooner or later it will end badly...thers far better dogs more suited to the job...A lot will obviously depend on your permission..mines all ditches, hedgerows and barbed wire, just wouldn't risk it.Maybe once his racing days are over...
  16. Nice one, will have look..good luck with your pup mate,I know youll put plenty in front of it...
  17. Had the exact same issue with my young lurcher, one not descended, the other just under the skin in his groin. It wasnt a problem until a month ago when he sometimes yelped when he ran, went over him as you do and found the testicle was tender. After speaking to my vet who i trust, she was more concerned with the undescended one, cancer being more likely in this one. Undescended testicles can be a long way from where they're supposed to be,and in his case it was...£150 was all it cost ,couldnt tell hed had anything done after 3 days..if i were him I'd get it removed...
