With a surfiet of energy and weight that is specified by law for the species of deer you are going to shoot ,whether your quarry is in Scotland or England as the criteria on either side of the border is different, What is acceptable in Scotland is not acceptable in regard to roe deer for instance using smaller calibres and in England smaller centre fire rifles may only be used on Chineese water Deer and Muntjac whereas in scotland the smaller centre fires such as 222 or 22-250 are legal on Roe deer and more than proficient to cull Roe deer

  10. the answer to that one is yes you can but its unusual for the bean tick to transfer over to humans from deer but most unlikely its the transfer is mostly done at the stage of its life cycle when they are nymphs . The tick usually attaches itself to a deer when its a nymphs sucks the blood and swells up to a bean tick with its jaws well and truly latched beneath its hosts skin and will live there for months whilst sucking warm blood. When the carcass cools after being shot the tick dosent have warm blood to feed on and withdraws its mouth parts from its host its at that stage it may transf

  12. As most of the other lads have said .243 is adequate with correct bullet weight combination and shot placement. Personally and this is my view I like a little more gun but as stated its adequate and also legally acceptable so it all comes down to if it suits you its a good one.

See BDS link http://www.bds.org.uk/deer_management_course.html if you was an employed forestry ranger or involved in wildlife management for a forest company they would want you to go down the DMC route.
